Re: My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb 2113Sep 09, 2019 8:15 pm It's looking great. I can't believe that fencer! Oh my goodness! Ha, hilarious you got his photo of him doing it and the text message admitting to it all. What a nutter though to come out and chop it up. Holy moly, screws loose or what. I'd have been scared to be near him with that thing in his hand. Has he chopped through and cut the neighbors shed as well? Keep us updated how it goes, im keen to hear! Why is it to hard to find tradies who is will to do the work as contracted and do it with pride in mind! Long story short, we have paver that are 1000mmx500mm long and that they would be cut 1000mmx250mm to be used as a border around our paving. We found out that he would be using a hand grinder to cut the pavers and we ask if he could use a bench saw so we could get a straight continuous cut. He declined and said that he has been using the hand grinder for 10 year and no one had an issue. We asked if he normally cut 1000mm long pavers and he said no. So after some discussion we agreed to pay half of the price to hire the bench saw to cut the pavers. So all good for the backyard. Then can along the frontyard, we had the same agreement, all good. When it came to the 1000mm drop face step pavers he refused and would only do it by a hand grinder. I even agreed to paid for the hire in full ($160 per day). Second incident While digging they damaged an external garden tape of our, offered to move is about 1.5m away from the original position as it would impact their concerte pour for a path and steps. Plumber came and relocated it to an incorrect location as agreed .5m away. Advised the landsaper and he claimed I have the wrong location. Wanted to charge me $150 for it to be moved again, I refused. Now wants me to charge me $220 for relocating it to the wrong location. I argued that i shouldn't be paying since it was damaged by this team in the first place. Third incident We are getting exposed Agg for our driveway. He is planning to cut the expansion joint that is 9m in length and 4.5m wide by using a hand grinder. I requested that it be cut using a saw that is on a trolley to get the correct depth and straight line. He is claiming that I am too difficult to work with and too demanding. He has stopped work on site and threaten us to leave the contract unless he is allowed to work unhinged. These are some of the experiences that we have had with this landsaper. What would you do? Do we have the right to request these things, especially if we are willing to pay for it? Re: My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb 2119Sep 16, 2019 8:31 am I reckon cutting pavers with handgrinder is fine. At the end u need to choose your battles. Trades people get annoyed when client tries to tell them on how to do things. If u annoyed them too much, down the track even reasonable items they would refuse. Which seems to be your case. 3rd incident - why he bothers to cut it by hand himself is beyond me. My concreter just sub contract it to another guy who specialises in doing such job. And he just included it in his quote accordingly. Re: My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb 2120Sep 16, 2019 10:27 am Stuck between hard place and a rock. I'm assuming you're paying some decent coin for all these items, you would think the trades would have all the correct tools to begin with, quite disappointing. Not having a good run brother, hopefully it'll all turn out fine in the the end and you can put it all behind you and start enjoying the house. The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 20093 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 14238 |
