Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Controlling shower flow 11Feb 16, 2015 5:33 pm I can definitely attest that cold showers make for quick showers! (I'm doing cold showers for supposed health benefits for now but have noticed shorter showers ) Re: Controlling shower flow 12Feb 16, 2015 7:50 pm I fitted a flow`restrictor and reduced the mains (which was on full flow), and the flow rate went from 18 l/m to 6l/pm All the other taps were unaffected. I also time showers now by turning off water at mains after 4 mins.. until the kids get into habit of short showers. I tried to find the flow restrictor /tap from the hot water system (to cut off hot water supply), but i couldnt find it. There was a insulated copper outlet pipe going from HWS into house, but no flow control.. any ideas where it is? There isn't usually one on the out going pipe Re: Controlling shower flow 15Feb 18, 2015 2:18 pm It's a mains pressure unit. It relies on the mains pressure pushing the water through. Without the mains water pushing into it it's basically a big bucket of hot water. Ever turned the water off at the mains to change a tap washer? Both lines stop. This may be different if you have a roof mounted storage tank as the gravity will keep pulling the water out Good luck with it. I don't know what the cost of a nice bidet seat with a 25mm air gap will be but you are obviously deducting the cost of a RPZ valve and its… 9 7613 You may still have a case, but your next step is to speak to a lawyer. 3 2031 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
