We have been become frustrated a few times with the delays but all it took was a stern email and wow- things started happening faster from that day on. I think the key is to be stern but not rude. In fairness, my clients are the same with me when I delay things!!! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1514Nov 23, 2012 3:38 pm Building with S36 welcome to the thread great to see someone being positive as well. We ended up with a 227 (or 8 I can't remember) tender and the build has been a little slow at the moment but I keep reminding myself of why we picked Rawson and the fact that we'll have a gorgeous house. Hopefully everyones problems sort themselves out soon.. I'm heading out to our block over the weekend. I refused to take the time to drive out there after work each day when nothing is changing.. For us, we had to have a slab down by a certain date and were quite stressed that we would not make it. We werent really aware at the time that we could have gotten an extension for the stamp duty rules on the block. If we did know this, then maybe we wouldnt have been in a hurry - well maybe we would have, but at least we wouldnt have been so stressed about it. Rawson is inundated at the moment. They probably werent prepared for the business that they have and now they are scrambling to catch up and to train new staff. The administration is the most frustrating phase of the build. Lack of communication and missing timeframes annoy me, but now that we actually have some action on our site, it has all melted away and I am excited again to see what is happening I received an email from someone because of my blog. They asked if I was still happy that I had chosen Rawson. I answered them that I am very happy that I chose Rawson. While they were slow in the administration phase they are a lot better and quicker than a lot of other builders. also the concretors doing my slab, one of them is building with Rawson. Surely that is advertisement enough. If they were not a good builder, would their own subbies be building with them. My slab form was finished today Bring on the slab pour early next week and then frames. Fingers crossed for all to be confirmed next week! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 1519Nov 26, 2012 5:26 pm How is everyone going? Tiler started today, hopefully he's nice and quick! Fingers crossed its done quickly and without any dramas. Very frustrating as was told 2 weeks ago our file was with drafting when today we were sent our final variations. I rang to find out what was going on to be told that our file went to drafting today and would take another 2-3 weeks as they are very busy. Just where has our file been for the last 2 weeks??? At this stage it's not looking promising to make it to council before Xmas like I had hoped. I'm not too confident about the next lot of plans being right anyway and if they aren't then who knows when they will be ready???? Gotta love the admin stage!! Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval. They're yours (unless you ended up in one of those cheaper arrangements where you don't own the rights and the build will be tendered… 2 799 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 24739 |
