Like we mentioned previously, we developed these along with the builder to meet our specifications. We plan to install the robes and linen cupboards ourselves over time in order to keep in with our budget. The colours we have chosen for the elevations are quite earthy. This is a combination of different shades of light brown which we thought would go well with the timber cladding in the gabel and balcony as well as the front door. Other materials we are using are render and stria cladding. Please let us know what you think! Even looks bigger than our 7.5m blocks...i guess the damn central courtyard does make people feel small. The WIR looks huge, and the main ensuite looks big too. The double side showers are the one we always want but cannot have. Our bathroom is not big enough to fit 2. Cannot comment about ur master room size but it looks quite big. The facades looks luxury, you have timbers, timbers!!!!!! we cannot have timber cladding cos the builder said they are very expensive. how big is ur total living area?? and how big is ur downstair + up stair living areas excluding garage, balconies, porch...etc 7.5M Dual Frontage terrace @ lightsview SA /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58754 moved in - April 2014 furnitured - August 2014 home theatre - September 2014 Game room - December 2013 moved in - 09 April 2014 Re: CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept pla 12Aug 19, 2012 6:17 pm @dreamcometrue Thanks, we tried to utilise all the space we had. The pantry was the builders design but we wouldn't have it any other way, especially considering our kitchen is going to be a little on the small side (to what we would have liked). As for the balcony, those were our thoughts exactly! My partner and I look forward to doing just that! @frozenkuku Our approval came with allot of back and forth with Lightsview but it seems we did get through reasonably quickly. They initially didn't approve our colour/materials so we had to add more detail to the front (this is why we added the stria). Hope you get your approval soon!! Have they given you any indication why it is taking so long? As for the size of the house, we made it as big as possible whilst still complying with the private open space requirements Lightsview are so stringent with. We even managed to create a rear verandah by having the top of the house overhang the back yard by a couple of metres! The master bedroom is 3.2x3.9 excluding the BIR. Total downstairs (excluding, porch, carport, backyard) = 56m sq Total upstairs (excluding, balcony) = 68m sq Our builder quoted us a total fixed price when we signed the contract, but didn't tell us specifically how much each individual item would cost. They have been happy to oblige our ideas without limitation thus far. It would seem that we have gotten a very good deal when compared with other builders. We really love the timber cladding and see it as the feature point of our home. In fact we decided that we wanted that feature on our home before we even purchased the land! Looking forward to seeing your floorplans when you put them up! 6m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) First fix completed ... 15 February 2013 Render completed... 19 February 2013 Insulation... 19 February 2013 Plasterboard... 21 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58747 Re: CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept pla 13Aug 19, 2012 6:43 pm Wow CrazyEagle, I love your plans. That looks like it will be a gorgeous house! I am quite jealous of your double shower and behind-the-bedhead robe. They are two things we really liked the idea of but didn't really work for this house. Oh well.. next time... Your downstairs is very spacious, I think it will be quite luxurious It really does show you how much terrace houses can vary. When you compare yours to ours, you have that little bit of extra width, the garage isn't part of the main building, and the house is a little shorter - and look how big a difference it makes to the design! They are good with their clever pantries, aren't they! I think the pantry is my favourite part of our design Really looking forward to seeing how yours develops. Our front facades are kind of similar but I don't think they will look alike in the end with the different materials. 5.5m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) Moved in!! - 22 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53455 Re: CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept pla 14Aug 21, 2012 9:12 pm Thanks Juski! You are right about how much terrace houses can vary. We are very happy that we have been able to do pretty much everything that we wanted. I'm particularly glad that we were able to enlarge the bedrooms as we have had a look at quite a few display homes and they can be quite small. It was also important to have a separate laundry, as we have been living with a "cupboard laundry" for the last couple of years. Oh and of course, I would have to say that the pantry is my favourite part of the house We are also really enjoying seeing your house go up! It must be very exciting to have something new every time you go and see it! It is also awesome that the builder has been emailing you updates regularly! 6m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) First fix completed ... 15 February 2013 Render completed... 19 February 2013 Insulation... 19 February 2013 Plasterboard... 21 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58747 Re: CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept pla 15Aug 21, 2012 10:24 pm CrazyEagle I'm particularly glad that we were able to enlarge the bedrooms as we have had a look at quite a few display homes and they can be quite small. Yes, yours are quite large! We really wanted an upstairs living area so we sacrificed bedroom space... hopefully they will still be OK. It's a lot of fun watching it grow and change! Until a few weeks ago we weren't entirely sure if we were looking at the right lot. Now there is no doubt. Where are you at now? Waiting for council approval? Have you done much in the way of selections - other than the exterior? 5.5m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) Moved in!! - 22 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53455 Re: CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept pla 16Aug 23, 2012 7:48 pm We would have liked an upstairs living area too but just couldn't fit it. Bedroom 3 will probably end up being a second lounge and/or guest bedroom at this stage. Bedroom 2 will be our study at this point. Can't believe how quick yours is going up! It's a shame that this crazy weather has decided to show or else who knows how much would be completed by now! We are currently waiting on council planning approval which was lodged about a week ago. We have only done the external selections at this stage. We are currently waiting to hear back from them in regard to some changes we would like to make with the electrical plan. We really can't wait to start doing the internal selections and designing our kitchen/bathrooms! Originally building was planned to commence in September, however, that's not looking too likely!! Hopefully we aren't waiting forever for the approvals! 6m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) First fix completed ... 15 February 2013 Render completed... 19 February 2013 Insulation... 19 February 2013 Plasterboard... 21 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58747 CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept plans 17Aug 25, 2012 10:35 am Just a question to all Lightsview/SA builds.. What are you doing for solar panels? The builder is doing the pre wiring for us as part of the build but we need to organise who we are going with and where they are going to be placed before the build commences. Not that we don't think they're a good idea, but it just seemed like too much to take on all at once, so we just left it at the solar hot water. I'm not sure you could even fit that many on a place like ours? 5.5m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) Moved in!! - 22 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53455 Re: CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept pla 19Aug 26, 2012 11:27 am Hi just wanted to say love your plans and we are looking at Steventon as well for our build project (the designer is a friend of a friend). Current: BUILDING - finishing soon! Re: CrazyEagle's Lightsview Build - Updated with concept pla 20Aug 26, 2012 8:58 pm @Juski We can understand wanting to keep the costs down. We decided against solar hot water as we didn't want to lose any space to the hot water tank. I don't think that we will get an overly large system anyway but we still don't really know how to shop for one! - So many companies to choose from these days! @Ms_Teapot Thankyou!
