Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Dream Home 31May 08, 2007 11:20 am mek Hi ladyice, I think we chatted a bit on this forum a year or so ago... Good to see your house coming on, we're at about the same stage as you are, good luck with choosing all your stuff, it's a bit of a pain isn't it. Hi Mek..how time flies..yes we finally got our asses moving...dont think we will ever build again so this is it!! Luckily my hubby and I agree on most things which made it a lot easier....I will try and keep everyone up to date with the progress...Thanks everyone for reading and any advice is greatly appreciated.... Re: Our Dream Home 32May 08, 2007 11:24 am vanderlay Hi Ladyice! Its a very small world - we have been watching your house being built cause we live in the same street!! VANDERLAY! Indeed what a small world...we must introduce ourselves since we are gonna be neighbours...my hubby works for the Eastlink project at Knox so its very convenient for him to do quick inspections of the progress..so if you see a guy with a Toyota Hilux thats him... Re: Our Dream Home 33May 08, 2007 11:33 am YSSIM Ooohhh! Lovin' your wooden bi-fold doors and windows. And that WIR is massive! I think my room is the size of your WIR. LOL Hi there..yes, I think we went a bit overboard with bi-folds..there is gonna be a lot of light coming through which will be a worry..can anyone with bi-fold doors tell me whats the best? curtains or blinds or both?...I think I was probably blind in my last life coz I dont like bright and white houses...sorry!! When we showed one potential builder our floor plans he laughed when he saw the walk in robe...he said - looks like you are building a Taj Mahal here... Re: Our Dream Home 34May 08, 2007 5:17 pm Michelle Best thing about a corner block…..you only get 1 neighbour! Well you do anyway. What’s the big fence at the back, that’s what I call total privacy! GREAT! Michelle, I just realised you were talking about the big black fence and not the one to our left..that 'fence' is the noise/sound absorber for the new Eastlink freeway..... Glad to see that you are progressing well. I haven't visited this site for a while - thanks for the PM reminder. Good luck with choosing your colours and appliances. I found Entreprise to be very resonable on price (since I double checked everything myself) and accomodating with last minute changes. Looking forward to seeing more photos. I'll be sure to send you a few of mine. Cheers Re: Our Dream Home 38May 11, 2007 1:29 pm I'm sooo jealous! I want to build my dream house, too!

Hi there, would love to see pics of your benchtop..I spent a long time choosing the color scheme...bright and white was not on my list of colors..I am sure the house can bear it with so many bi-fold doors...the carpet will be dark too... Got an email from the builder saying that water tanks are now in high demand so there is a back order...we have ordered a 2400litre FatBoy- pics here - http://www.waterwall.com.au/index.cfm?p=2116 I chose the beige color instead of the hideous green...we were going to apply for the water tank rebate..I think its either $500 or $1000 I am not sure but we were told if we get the rebate we have to pay a water storage fee and it gets deducted from our waterbill automatically ...
