I don't have anything to compare it with, so not sure of the difference between the two types you are talking about. It seems thicker than the mesh we have on our sliding doors; definitely more rigid of course, but its extra rigidity might give it the impression of being thicker when really it may not be. They look the same though, very thin - until you touch them. Is this mesh maybe on your front door? Maybe you have the thick 316 or 304 stainless steel mesh whihc doesn't need bars or diamond grilles?? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
