I have basic drawers, my parents have soft-closers (blum). The soft-closers, they get close and then it is really hard to stop them trying to close that last cm or so, so little fingers get pinched very easily. With mine, because they don't try to 'close themselves' that last bit, there has been far fewer incidents. I've found that when my fingers get in the way, the soft-close drawers are more painful for me too. True, they don't slam, but the energy from a fast close still has to go somewhere and pinching your fingers slowly instead of bouncing off huuuurrrrts. Best solution: don't catch fingers in drawers. Status: sold our first house, moved in with parents, bought our second in Pakenham, still planning to build in a few years time. Re: Soft closers post handover 11Nov 07, 2010 2:01 pm Here's the thread where Matt explains how he added them post handover to his home. viewtopic.php?t=6552&highlight=blum I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Soft closers post handover 12Nov 08, 2010 9:41 am We just had our soft closing Blum drawers delivered to our house. Here's a link to my blog on them. They are fantastic. I will have to make sure that the little ones don't test the jamming fingers issue. Also Tim and Tina on a blog that I am following are trying to sell little mechanisms that act as soft closing mechanisms. This may be another option. View our blog at: http://room4acubby.blogspot.com/ I've dug some footings to embed a post anchor into. My holes are around 450mm deep which I'll put a 200mm stirrup into. The bottom of these holes seem firm enough. … 0 3772 If there have been changes, variations, during construction then the drawings should be revised, the building permit amended and the current, as built drawings given to… 2 4812 That just protects from further rust, l want first to apply a rust converter or rust killer to kill the rust thats there, whats the best one for galvanized steel 2 8154 |
