I do not think so. Houses are more to be trusted than people. Not sure if this helps - but you can buy bi-carb soda from your local pool shop (otherwise known as pH and alkalinity raisers) - I haven't compared the pricing to the grocery stores as I own a pool shop but if you need larger amounts (eg 2kg etc) for the dishwasher it could be a cheaper way to buy it Re: Finish dishwashing tablets 30Oct 04, 2010 3:42 pm We only just got a dishwasher, came with the Finish tablets, we just used the Finish powder which comes in the form of a disintegrating tablet casing filled with powder. Seemed to work good. Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! Re: Finish dishwashing tablets 31Oct 04, 2010 9:17 pm I use bi-carb and vinegar for EVERYTHING... floors, washing machine, basic cleaning. I use vinegar in the rinse cycle of the washing machine and add a couple of drops of lavender oil to give a nice fragrance..... Re: Finish dishwashing tablets 32Oct 05, 2010 11:04 am Great topic! I would never consider using bi-carb, should try it now But I also bought a huge pack of tablets recently, so here is a silly question How do you cut the tablet in half? Just use scissors and cut? What about this red thingy in the middle? Re: Finish dishwashing tablets 33Oct 13, 2010 9:47 pm Morgaine Great topic! FYI bicarb is present in all powder cleaners Most importantly people often forget to "clean dishwasher" every now and then to avoid accumulation of rime and fats in pipes and the like. Re: Finish dishwashing tablets 34Oct 13, 2010 11:25 pm What a great thread. I would have simply kept using tablets time and time again until my machine clogged. We use "Earth's Choice" and couldn't really fault them. I am keen to try the bicarb and vinger though too. Re: Finish dishwashing tablets 36Oct 14, 2010 8:33 am LOL. . .I was just thinking that ...having read the post. . well over 2 hours. Unless the new process has resulted in super ultra bright shiny dishes that has blinded the entire household...heh heh. Re: Finish dishwashing tablets 38Oct 14, 2010 8:17 pm Make sure that there is either vinegar or rinse aid in the dispenser because otherwise you will get cloudy glasses etc!
