dna ladyice phoenix..its called grey oak.....initially we ordered the wenge but there was a big delay with that color so we opted for the grey oak..turned out to work very well with the wallpaper... **Phoenix** ladyice, another qtn sorry.....what colour did you select for the cabinetry in the WIR???? Oops , I blame the lighting, made it look like darker Re: Our Dream Home 304Mar 04, 2008 12:43 pm ladyice no white pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee phoenix...big no no for wardrobes!!!! I dont mind being blamed for this!!! as long as you promise me you will change the color!!! Hmmm great!!!! One more post contract variation...we'll see what they come back with...$$$$$$ i assume. White melamine is std i am being told...... Sorry ladyice, no promises, but worst case scenario, we'll rip it out afterwards and get it done the way i really want it.... not too fussed, they are pretty basic ones anyway. Waiting, waiting, waiting.....hubby doesn't know i've asked the CSR yet...hehehehe.... Re: Our Dream Home 305Mar 04, 2008 12:44 pm ladyice no white pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee phoenix...big no no for wardrobes!!!! I dont mind being blamed for this!!! as long as you promise me you will change the color!!! Ok I will post more pics...my nephew did some artistic shots which look pretty cool....will post them soon... May I ask what did you do for the wardrobes in the other bedrooms? We're considering a mix of white for the horizontal surface and laminates/veneers for the verticals in the WIR to save costs but nothing has been decided on as yet. Paula Re: Our Dream Home 307Mar 04, 2008 5:33 pm does this mean that while melamine is cheaper than other colours? does anyone know why?
Helen Re: Our Dream Home 308Mar 04, 2008 8:17 pm no no ..... no more ideas guys .
Our builder is going to have a conipition <what a lovely word >. He is going to hate me after I give him this latest idea. Another PCV (this one will cost me unless I cant sweet talk him ). Dark cupboards look far far better in the WIR. Re: Our Dream Home 310Mar 04, 2008 11:06 pm I just spoke to our cabinet maker and he told me that to change from white melamine to dark melamine or a timber look will cost approx $300 (only charging for different materials rather than labour) for our WIR (based on the same one as Ladyice's) which is 2640 x 3560. just thought that might help anyone negotiating with their builder.

Helen That'll depend on the layout of your WIR, assuming if you have more shelves/partitions the cost would increase. Re: Our Dream Home 312Mar 05, 2008 7:09 am Sounds like you've caused a bit of a headache for building companies everywhere Ladyice!!
Everyone's asking to change their wardrobe. I told hubby and he just rolled his eyes (men just don't get the importance of a nice WIR) Is that wallpaper on the roof of your robe? Where did you get it from? I am having a hard time finding nice paper in Brisbane and am now thinking I might have to order it from interstate. Jet Re: Our Dream Home 313Mar 05, 2008 11:22 am Hi Ladyice,
I know the answer is here in this thread (tried to find it several times ) but where did you get the butlers sink in the laundry. I have got to have one!!!!!!! Makes the laundry room look special. Now, MrB will have no say in this because I am not going to tell him( that and the abbey sink worth $1800 that I just have to have...and the wood ward drobe fit out) Thanks Mrs B more pictures please Re: Our Dream Home 314Mar 05, 2008 2:55 pm Hi dna...

Helen hey $300 is not bad at all...I hope I have started a positive trend to NOT have a white wardrobe ..just tell hubby the money can either go towards a Louis Vuitton bag or to a beautiful wardrobe with a little corner for him! That should be an easy answer.... it sure is wallpaper on the ceiling...I got it from a place called Grant Dorman..I am pretty sure they deliver interstate....the wallpaper brand is Eiffingger....
