G'Day All.
I'm having trouble finding floating shelves with a depth of 300mm-400mm, deep enough to hold a Blu Ray player / Foxtel box ect.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Make sure the ones you buy will. The only place I could find was Ode - http://www.ode.co.za. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the URL. If the mods remove the URL, do a Google search for "Ode floating cantilever shelves" instead. They're based in South Africa, but they may deliver to Australia if you email them. Not only do they do floating shelves, but also floating entertainment units, boxes, charging stations, etc... Looks nice.... but kind of pricey Re: Deep Floating Shelves 8Apr 07, 2010 8:53 am pharley Howdy, I've been looking for a similar thing, but more of a floating entertainment unit. Re: Deep Floating Shelves 9Jun 26, 2010 8:43 pm This is probably too late but I have been looking for the same, and see some designed for media shelves here http://www.shelvingshop.com.au/shopdisp ... ving+-+All Re: Deep Floating Shelves 10Jun 28, 2010 10:42 am Yeah, I saw them a few weeks ago. They look just about right Re: Deep Floating Shelves 11Sep 04, 2010 7:49 pm Not sure if it is the sort of thing you are looking for, but you could check this floating shelving system out - http://www.simpliform.com.au. They are designed for home theatre and anything else that sits on shelves (their site is full of all sorts of things but mostly home theatre and books). They did a custom shelf for my DVD player at 400mm deep, as their standard range only goes up to 320mm. All the cables are hidden inside the "system", which was a real clincher for my wife. I have just finished installing mine for my home theatre in American Oak with glass shelves. I spent plenty of time researching different options (of which there really isn't anything available other than really weak floating shelves that aren't big enough and show all the cables or big timber cabinets that sit on the floor). I tried to find out as much about these guys before I bought, but just ended up talking to them on the phone and grilled them for about an hour, as there is nothing on the web about them. But I am happy with it so far. Re: Deep Floating Shelves 12Sep 07, 2010 10:46 am Cheers. I ordered 3 of the media shelves from http://www.shelvingshop.com.au/ and I'm very happy with the finished product. Re: Deep Floating Shelves 13Sep 07, 2010 11:11 am Deep floating shelves are great to look at, but bear in mind that they do not reach their full load bearing capacity unless fitted into solid brick walls. Please ensure that you include at least 1 stud in your load bearing section. I know tht houses now-a-days are built with a stud spacing of 600 mm between centers. You would need to be careful about where you locate your screws. Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them. Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors.
