Jo Re: Our new house in the country... 10May 26, 2008 6:12 pm Hey I'd love to know more about the floor boards and sticking them down. Were they 12mm overlay? Where'd you get them from? Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Re: Our new house in the country... 11May 26, 2008 7:51 pm Thanks Bec & Dolly!
Cluth, I think they are 12mm solid timber direct stuck to slab (will need to check with DH). We got them from Planet Timbers in Adelaide - I think their main office is Perth - not sure about Brisbane. They have a good website though if you want to check that out- http://www.planettimbers.com.au/index.html Jo Re: Our new house in the country... 14May 26, 2008 9:08 pm Quote: Its looking great, nice to see the land around it - so peacefull. Think of how proud Mike will be when its finished Love the colour of your floors. Thanks Paula, yes we are lucky - my parents actually own 700 acres farming land around our block so the kids have got lots of room to move. DS number 2 (who is 5) is already asking for a motorbike - I've said when you are 12!! I think Mike will have a lot of satisfaction knowing how much work he has put into our house - it will be great having our husband/dad back too....... I will have to post another photo of our floorboards taken in daylight - we love them Re: Our new house in the country... 15May 26, 2008 9:12 pm Quote: Re the kitchens - what sort of splashback are you going with? Steve, I have been thinking all along glass & when bugging Michelle several months ago about my kitchen - she suggested to use our wall colour which is China White. I'm still thinking that I'll go with that, but I'll wait until it's all done to make final decision. Re: Our new house in the country... 17May 26, 2008 10:11 pm Quote: So am I hearing china white coloured glass? Yep, but remember I'm a woman & sometimes we do change our minds . Pretty sure that is the way I'll go though - once overheads & benchtop are in I'll decide, I'll probably get painter to paint the area in the china white when he comes in to finish off the rest, just to see what it will look like. No doubt I'll get confirmation from Michelle - & everyone else when I post another photo of the kitchen finished!!! Re: Our new house in the country... 18May 26, 2008 11:01 pm It looks great Jo. I love the style of the house and floorboards.

Thats a great idea, we did that with the last house - I painted the area to get a really good feel for it. Paula of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
