The last bedroom of our unit has been re-plastered and floors polished.
The last step is to fix the skirting boards.
The floor along one of the walls is not level and when the skirting board is positioned against the wall there is a 25 mm gap at either end between the board the floor. As a check, I've used a laser to confirm the skirting board isn't too much of a banana.
I'm after advice on what options may work best in this situation.
So far I'm considering
1) Fixing the skirting board into place and running quad along to hide the gap.
2) Bending the skirting board to the floor level to hide the gap.
3) Consider getting a professional in to try relevel the floor joists/floor.
4) Purchase taller skirting board e.g. 140 mm instead of 92mm, and scribe/cut the board to the level of the floor.
Option 1 is probably the simplest but I don't think the size of the quad to hide the gap will look great.
Option 2 will take a bit of effort as the skirting board will be fixed to a brick wall. The curve of the board afterwards might be a bit noticeable.
Option 3 is probably not the most cost effective option and I'm wondering even if the joists are relevelled that the plaster may crack at the corners of the room.
Option 4 possibly a good compromise but I would prefer to hear advice from others before purchasing more skirting board.
