It seems the more modern/cleaner designs either do away with, or have a much smaller removable pelmet. Maybe the deeper ones help with draughts/sound, provided the bottom of the door seals as well? Re: Cavity sliding doors 6May 26, 2020 8:15 am 99% of cavity sliders are done that way so that any adjusting can be done by removing those pelmets and using a spanner to adjust the door up or down. The one above sticks out so much because it has been painted a different colour ( unless that is only the prime coat ).
