Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 66Dec 17, 2017 7:06 pm Went out for a look today. Unfortunately our brickwork hasn’t commenced. Since Tuesday our door frames, stacker doors, and wooden door frame have been delivered. We also had a delivery of builders sand, tools, and a bunch of other stuff so looks like they’re ready to start Monday. Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 68Dec 17, 2017 10:52 pm Any chance they will get the frames in before Christmas. Surely they wouldn’t just leave them ****** around over the break. Is your area very built up? @Madora Dreamer Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 69Dec 17, 2017 11:26 pm Supposed to be terrible weather tomorrow as well I believe. Hopefully they get some brickwork done this week. A house across from ours is about 50% after one week, so you might be in luck to get a decent bit done Find my build thread here: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=88694&f=31&p=1729530#p1729530 Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 70Dec 17, 2017 11:46 pm Madora Dreamer Any chance they will get the frames in before Christmas. I thought the same thing, can’t see them leaving those around until next year. Hoping they have a few brickies on site tomorrow or Tuesday given the weather Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 71Dec 17, 2017 11:47 pm just_a_draftee Supposed to be terrible weather tomorrow as well I believe. Hoping HGWA can get together a small army of brickies to get our house to a similar stage as your neighbours. Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 72Dec 18, 2017 8:07 am Can't control the weather unfortunately. The other issue is that if the bricks are soaked, the brickies may wait another day or 2 until they dry out as they become a lot heavier and harder to lay when wet. Unfortunately up the road someone is doing an extension/improvements on their place & the brickies were smashing that out last week. No sign of them or any worker for that matter, today. My fingers are crossed for you Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 76Dec 19, 2017 2:47 pm FYI - No brickies at our block this morning, maybe tomorrow now that the rain has gone. Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 78Dec 19, 2017 8:31 pm How exciting! LOVE your 2c red brick choice. Who supplied them? (midland brick etc) I chose peninsula Hannan for my red 2c brick Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 79Dec 19, 2017 8:52 pm Summitlovin How exciting! LOVE your 2c red brick choice. Who supplied them? (midland brick etc) I chose peninsula Hannan for my red 2c brick They’re from austral bricks and they’re called Hannan as well are you using the same supplier? We love them, Albany cream was not our choice (unpopular opinion) Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense.
