I don't even have a final draft of the plan to look at. I rang Friday and was promised a return phone call about signing the contract and my prestart however it never came. Will chase up on Monday. I need to finalise my land the following week so hopefully they will come through on time. @Madora Dreamer Re: Building with Ventura in Bushmead, WA 11Apr 30, 2017 3:55 pm Madora Dreamer Have you had your prestart yet? Received our final plans in the mail about 2 weeks ago and noticed a few things that needed to be changed so sent it back with a list. Received the new final plans on Friday. I found we had to chase up a little bit to get some info before pre-start but our consultant has been really good and kept us in the loop. We had a pretty easy pre-start because we wanted costings of everything before we signed our contract. Our bill came to about 25k but we had a 9k allowance from Ventura and managed to get it down to 14k. Re: Building with Ventura in Bushmead, WA 12Apr 30, 2017 4:02 pm I have changed some things too. My biggest upgrade has been the tiles which came in at $12000 laid. I upgraded my kitchen by $10000 and put $10000 aside for smart wiring. The only upgrades now will be the shower head in the ensuite, skirting boards, kitchen sink mixer, power points and light fittings I hope. If I have enough room I may upgrade the carpet. My head says control the budget, my heart says get everything you want, it is that last time you are going to to this. My kids keep telling me to go for it as I have worked so hard to get to this point...but they are not footing the bill lol. Plus I am going for an almost total refurbish as well! @Madora Dreamer Building with Ventura in Bushmead, WA 13Apr 30, 2017 4:09 pm Haha yes it is easy to want all the upgrades until you get the bill! We found some things were a bit outrageous in price and others we were happy with. So many little things you don't realise will add up. This forum has definitely helped us with some things we never would have thought about! Our shower head in the ensuite has cost us so much but it's due to us wanting a rainfall shower head from he ceiling so it will be worth it (fingers crossed). Just one tip that may be common knowledge but we didn't know until a family member (electrician) told us - get conduits put in! It adds up but will be worth it in the end if you want to make any electrics changes down the track. Re: Building with Ventura in Bushmead, WA 15May 02, 2017 3:44 pm We are building in Bushmead too Rheezy, so nice to see some photos of the estate... Just wondering did you walk down and take them or did you arrange a visit with Cedar Woods? Hubby and I drove down last night and were going to walk in but decided against it as there was still a few people around. Look forward to following your build. Wow very exciting to meet someone else who is building in Bushmead! Can I ask what street you are on? We are on Fairmile we just walked down the road (not sure if we were allowed to??) Who are you building with? I'll post some more photos below although I'm not sure I captured anything too exciting. I was told last week that it should be ready to go by the 8th so fingers crossed. We are building with Homegroup WA only just starting to go through the whole admin process though so will be a little behind I think, hopefully everything moves through quite quickly. We are on Greenslope Drive not too far from you. Re: Building with Ventura in Bushmead, WA 18May 02, 2017 4:33 pm Great, exciting to meet a new neighbour. I'm sure we will see you around at some point. We head off overseas for a month on 12th May so I'm excited to see the estate and the progress when we get back! Re: Building with Ventura in Bushmead, WA 19May 02, 2017 5:53 pm Lucky you going overseas.... hopefully there is a fair bit of progress between now and then. You haven't had your site surveyed yet by any chance? I'm stressing that the amount that our builder has allocated for siteworks isn't going to be enough and wont do a survey until the estate is fully complete although they can arrange to do it through cedar woods. Just curious to know if others have been surveyed yet? Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 12066 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 22170 |
