Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Fowler Homes Paris 34 - Jordan Springs 126Mar 29, 2017 8:17 pm No work for a week and a half now. Found out my site supervisor quit last Thursday and finishes up tomorrow- this would likely explain why. Had to call fowler today to find out who my new SS will be as foresite, redundancy measures and communication seems to be non existent at fowler. After asking for a call from him - he seemed disgusted that I was trying to call him to find out what was going on with work halted and my promise of waterproofing being completed as soon as the stairs went in had not come to fruition ( which I didn't even have a chance to explain ) He had only just found out himself of getting my file. I understand they over extend the SS's and that he was probably annoyed to have extra work - especially in the fit out stage of a build, but he was very rude, and told me he only gives updates on Fridays and pretty much ended the call after a not even 30 second conversation and no intro or nicities. I am a normally patient and understanding person, but enough is enough. I, nor our house are not just an unwanted annoyance or a file and we can't afford an extended period of time paying 90% of a construction loan. It would have been nice to have some reassurance or proper notice of the process of handover between SS's and think it shouldn't be up to them to communicate, but the management, of such issues. I don't want an SS that I have no rapour with that resents building my home. I think that it is time to hand over the reigns to my hubby to deal with them it is too stressful and emotional. I really really wish we had not built, it's a nightmare and at this point feel like we will probably just end up selling the house and moving elsewhere - I now hate our home, just want it finished before we end up eating 2 minute noodles every night and pulling our kids out of the school that we can't afford at this rate! Newwyhouse2233 and faykis be very weary before signing with fowler of this poor service during the build. If you can, take a look at allworth homes - two people in my street have built with them and love them - super quick and great service. I have heard good things about better built homes too. Not sure if their plans and packages suit but don't let the pretty display homes and extras in the fowler packages distract from the most important part of the process - the build! Hi KP16, so sorry to hear about your dramas!!! Do you mind me asking where you're located? I too am building with Fowler, and we're still in admin stage. I can't say things have gone smoothly for me either. My tender presenter was not great, variations were coming back quite fast in the beginning but this last one i have been waiting for over 3 weeks now and still nothing. Also waiting to get my latest plans after requesting further amendments. I just hope once our land gets registered it won't be too much of a nightmare. Tbh, I've already had enough! We are located in Penrith at Jordan Springs. Admin was pretty good for us, fowler really helped us when we had massive dramas with wisdom. I didn't have any variations though other than from the selection process. The slowest part was council. We also had already registered land and weren't going through them for a house and land package. The process only gets worse and more stressful during the build as I couldn't fault their admin, if they are slow now I can bet the build will a nightmare. Sorry, and I truely hope I am wrong for your sake. Re: Our Fowler Homes Paris 34 - Jordan Springs 131Mar 30, 2017 7:14 am BL35ED Man... I cant help feel sorry. Thank you...I think I'll just try and stay away and see if that helps ease the stress. Not John, apparently they are all supposed to give updates on Fridays as per a convo with my last SS- he was just usually in contact with us a little more frequently or didn't follow that process! Re: Our Fowler Homes Paris 34 - Jordan Springs 132Apr 20, 2017 11:14 pm Another site supervisor down...they are really going through them. Not the one that we had for the last 4 week's did anything at all other than install ballastrades and stone benchtops - that's it!!! Oh and figure out that no the waterproofing still hadn't been done and can't be until they rip out the laundry tub vanity . Who knows when it will get done as all I have been fed is one lie after another, have only had communication on updates when I have called them repeatedly trying to get one, the Friday only updates never happened. We have a new SS again.Hope he is going to get things moving, haven't been given his details yet. Re: Our Fowler Homes Paris 34 - Jordan Springs 136Apr 27, 2017 9:59 am back on site today after almost 6 weeks ... Re: Our Fowler Homes Paris 34 - Jordan Springs 137May 17, 2017 7:46 pm We hit the 12 month mark of build contract start date on the 3rd of May- bit depressing really. Haven't posted anything for a while re any updates, not a great deal happened until last week. Finally waterproofing was completed. Tiles were delivered- and what a debacle that was it ended up with my husband and I having to physically move 4 pallets into the garage off our neighbours driveway as Abruzzo could not get access to the garage due to the site being an absolute rubbish heap. Tony from Abruzzo was amazing and instead of refusing to deliver, worked around us to get them off the truck rather than going back to the warehouse and delaying things further. Thank god I was driving past the house at the right time!! Tiles started this week and will take about two weeks to complete. All the gyprock repairs, sanding and incomplete work will be completed this week too. Our new site supervisor is really good. I have wish we had him from the start- we would have been in months ago I'm sure of it. Re: Our Fowler Homes Paris 34 - Jordan Springs 139May 18, 2017 8:11 am It has been slow for us too with only a bit of work here and there over the last few weeks.
