Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Sep 03, 2016 2:18 pm Hi all, my partner and I are renovating our entire house and I just had a few questions about tiling if anyone has any ideas or tips. We are tiling inside with 300x600 rectified brick pattern (and using a chunk of the tiling budget) I think obviously tiles will look better outside as well but I am open to ideas or options. Our outside patio area is about 130m2, I suggested liquid tile to my partner but he isn't a fan of it. Any ideas? Also because it's a red brick house we are trying to work with the house not against it so are putting in an aluminium red brick look splash back etc. Does anyone know of a neutral-redish type feature tile we could use on the wall with the waterfall at the end of the pool. I found 'Tribeca old brick red' and multicolour at Beaumont which is nice, I just need to check that can be used with water running down it. If anyone has any other ideas? Thanks Ness Re: Tiling Info Help? 2Sep 19, 2016 3:50 pm Hi Ness If you're working with a red brick house it's important not to over-do it with the paving/tiling. While it can seem an obvious choice to use paving in a similar colour to the house it can be a 'less is more' scenario. I've found neutral grey paving often compliments red brick homes perfectly. As an example, it looks like this house is using a Bluestone or Grey Slate and it looks great. Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 8140 Hi, I'm clearing the tiles from our horrid 50 year old bathroom and preparing to lay new ones. Bugger of a job getting the old… 0 8328 4 15070 |
