Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Easements question 2Jul 20, 2007 12:58 pm Milt,
Go nuts! You can build a garden shed with a concrete base over the easement as well if you like! In the very unlikely event that the council need to dig up the pipe/s in your easement then they will dig it up. If you are in a new suburb I wouldn't worry about it in your lifetime Same goes for garden beds and trees!! Re: Easements question 3Jul 20, 2007 1:02 pm There are different types of easements.
This little PDF has a good explanation. http://www.gleneira.vic.gov.au/Files/BOE_Information_Pack.pdf With regard to planting, most councils advise to keep easements clear of trees. I suppose it depends on the council, the type of easement and the size of the trees you intend to plant. I would consult council regarding this issue as each council has their own policies. Small trees or shrubs however are rarely a problem. I'd just go ahead and plant those. I did at my last property. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 10925 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel.
