We went with the 5000k "Natural" light as it fits better with our overall Black & White theme.
LOVE the Brighgreen. The light they produce is much better than other brands (IMHO) and I like that they don't throw light everywhere like the cheaper diffused down lights. Probably a little more effort to set them up for the right light in each room but well worth it. I didn't buy Brightgreen for EVERY room. The downlights for the Garage, WIR's and Alfresco will be left to the cheaper type for now. I may change them later.

Power points were fitted BEHIND the Laundry door. Great place for them.. NOT!! Hey, How about we move them over 1 stud space? (Can't believe I had to actually point that out)

Lets move the ENS Exhaust fan so it actually works rather than give me lame excuses as to why it was fitted so the fan would be right beside the outside wall instead of over the shower where it's needed?
The beam to the right was the reason it was first fitted to the right side of that beam. Fair enough.. how bout we take the duct around that beam? hey.. THAT WORKS.. lol

And while were at it.. how bout we move the Powder Room Exhaust / Light so that it's centre to the room? Why would you put it anywhere else? lol

Now the tricky one... The gas connection for my BBQ was fitted a meter back from the corner. Pretty useless position considering most gas lines come out from the right side of a BBQ. So... I didn't think it could be fixed as it was already bricked in but.. I was wrong. Remove bricks from around gas connection and remove bricks where we want it. Relocated, extend line and re-brick.. too easy haha.

15/12/2015 - Insulation Fitted.
Insulation fitted to external walls where outside finish is timber cladding and to all ceilings.
The lower ceilings were fitted now and held in place with tape until plaster goes on. The upper floor will be installed once plastering is finished.

The double bricks had to be keyed into the black bricks to create a clean rendered section.
Render was only suppose to be going to the left of the meter box but seeing as Clarendon like to change final plans without consultation, they now have to change the render and I have to move my fence further back from the front.
5hits me when people "think" they can just do what they want without the appropriate communication.

Will have 3 Air Con units along this wall. Spent extra to have the lines ran before bricks so that we could put all units together.

06/01/2016 - Front yard cleaned up.
Spoke to the guys doing the clean up and they reckon they will be back another 2 or 3 times before it's all completed.
Only front yard cleaned today as the scaffold needs to be removed to allow access to the rear.

wow you have had a productive couple of weeks, the brick work looks great and so does the render. Can't believe they goosed the position for the render and the gas connection, thank goodness you noticed and got them to fix it.

Holy sh7t that's one hell of a mess, good news they are cleaning it up though, enjoy digging up bricks when you start landscaping. I've dug up 4 bricks and numerous drink cans. My neighbour dug up a bucket with bricks in it

Woo hoo the gyprock is hung too, Clarendon are working hard on your place that's for sure.

Good idea getting all your air con conduits ran now, the conduits are for splits systems?

Wow 70 downlights is massive, they should be good for energy efficiency

70 downlights and thats NOT all of them lol.
Yeah pipes and cable is for split systems. I'm still a little old fashioned and like to have better control over temps in rooms. Have never had a good experience with ducted yet so will stick to splits

I think they are working hard to try and get past the issues of changing things that suite them on the plan but not when the client asks for something. Gunna suck to be them come Monday.

Fair enough with the air con, I was nervous about our ducted but it's so good not expensive to run either so happy days.

So how was clarendons Monday?

12/01/2015 - Soffit and External Cladding going on.
Carpenters have battened out the Soffit and Walls and were just starting to lift all the cladding up when I went past.
Hopefully they might have it done when I head to work later this afternoon.

9 x Ceiling Fans

Hmm.. That's embarrassing lol

You know, they (I'll generalise that by saying "Most, if not all Project Builders"), must have a pre-requisite for the staff they employ. They must have the gift of the gab. Must be able to talk over, through and above anyone that tries to rock the boat lol.

As I have seen before, they always seem to have a answer for everything, but I stated my case as polite as I could and was told they would see what they could do.
In other words.. here.. we'll tell you what you want to hear so you go away.

The upside is experience. Experience for me that tells me if I ever build another house (which will never happen), I would NEVER deal with a project builder. It's just too painful. Would rather spend the extra money straight up with a boutique builder that will give me what I want.

We were originally going to go for nice timber stairs but a couple of factors stopped us.
1 - Cost. Simply put, we spent our funds in other areas and just couldn't afford timber stairs.
5 - Comfort. After talking to a number of friends they all pointed out that I sleep through the day (heading there very soon) and drive all night. So carpeted stairs will be better for the noise factor.
