Roof is looking great roo, like the colourbond a lot. Did you get whirly birds? Eave vents? Woo hoo the plumbing rough in is done too, I already feel for your electrician doing your electrical rough in, you have so many lights and power points

Lol Ssshh we won't let him know till he gets on site haha. Vented eaves yes, whirly birds no. Too expensive through Clarendon so I'll get my dad to install them later

Haven't really discussed it yet but...
Will be 2 in the main roof (upper floor) and due to my reptile friends I am considering the idea of adding 1 to the garage roof. Just depends if I can fit it in a visually appealing location lol

Speaking of electrical.. Here is our final approved electrical plan lol

Too many points / lights for the standard meter box so we now have a sub board in the garage haha.
Up side to this is we wont have any breaker switches outside. They will all be in the garage

Haven't really discussed it yet but...
Will be 2 in the main roof (upper floor) and due to my reptile friends I am considering the idea of adding 1 to the garage roof. Just depends if I can fit it in a visually appealing location lol

I am a little uncertain about them so I called my ss (he is awesome even though we are handed over

) he said the same thing 2 in the main roof and one over the garage but eave vents are really important, you have those so happy days. Does your upstairs leisure room over look the garage roof? For us it's a bedroom I don't know if I want to look out a window at one??

Omg that's hectic!! What do the blue half circle ones mean? Red round for down light, blue halves on walls power points but I'm not sure what the blue half circle ones are? Will the board in the garage be in a housing? There is a few houses up the street from us being built that have recessed meter boxes, wish I knew about those they look much neater.

I think you might be referring to the one in the garage? Thats a power point in the ceiling for garage door.
Blue is what is provided by Clarendon (not bloody much lol) and red are extras.

Sub board will be in a box as it will house all the circuit breakers (and there are quite a few lol)

Electrics are quite "over the top" and I'll be the first to admit. BUT.. after living in so many homes that are so lacking in light and suitable power I wasn't going to have that issue in my own home. It's far easier to add them all now and ensure the system is catered to cope with it than try and modify later.

Wait till the data cabling has been done. I'm not sure there will be any timber framing left in some sections due to the amount of cables in the walls lmao

agree with getting as much done as you can now, are you having Clarendon do down lights or are you going another option? Hahha your poor frames will be swamped with cabling, we have 6 data points and only use 2

, the ones behind the tvs are plugged in, the laptops and iPads and wifi, whoops could of saved some coin there. You will love nbn it's super fast and brilliant plans. Have Clarendon given you any indication on your build time frame? Have you thought about your driveway? You will need to lodge a driveways and cross over application to GCCC and pay the stupid fee for your driveway (it can take a few weeks and they go slow in the lead up to Xmas) just thought it might be something handy to have ready. If you need a concreter for your driveway let me know

We are using a couple of different downlights.
In the garage, Portico, WIR's and Alfresco we will be using Atom At9012 13W

In the remainder of the house except the Theatre we will have Brightgreen D900+ 16W

In the Theatre we will have Brightgreen D700+ 14W in Black

And above the stairs we will have a Brightgreen D900 SHX to focus light on the painting in the wall above the stairs

lol... I'm a little paranoid with the data cabling. I spent a number of years running my own computer retail store in Southport and to this day I HATE WIFI.
It's inferior in every way. Unreliable and slow. In a two storey house I would need to use a number of WIFI access points to be able to get connections.
I will still have WIFI as it's a necessary evil for portables (Mobile, Tablet and phone) but everything else will be hard wired.
So....
My ultimate would be:
6 points to Theatre
6 points to Family + 1 other for phone
2 points to Alfresco
6 points to Leisure + 1 other for phone
2 points to Bed 1 + 1 other for phone
2 points to Guest room
4 points to Bed 4 (My Office and printers)

A couple of those throught the house will be used for WIFI connections.
The Family and Leisure will have hard wired connections for Xbox, PS and Movies.

Fascia & gutter installed for lower roof sections and safety rails fitted for roof plumbers that are hopefully finishing the roof on Monday (if this weather clears up). Also suppose to have electricians starting on Monday.

Have basically sorted out our networking requirements but....
Did you know that the Hills Home Hub is basically crap??
Did you know you can get ceiling mounted WAP to provide wireless access??

Been out buying bits for the house each week when we can afford some extra in the hope that it wont hit the back pocket as hard once we get to hand over stage.
Ordered and collected our Ovo step lights that we are using for our stairs and also for our entry passage.
Now today we ordered our ceiling fans. 9 x Hunter Pacific 52" Intercept fans.
We have modified them by ordering the Brushed Aluminium and changing the blade to Black.
We should end up with ceiling fans that look like this:

These are not the fans that I originally wanted but I had to face reality and my original choice was twice the price.

Oh Lordy that's a lot of ports!!!! We have nbn here and it's really fast via wifi, I would never of thought to put so many ports in.

Roofing looks good roo, what's happened over the last week?

Bahahahha roo you are doing exactly what I did, each week I would pick things up and started putting them away I couldn't believe how much I gathered over out build and saved a bundle as I got lots on sale.

I have no idea what the step lights are? Are they the little squares?

Love the fan, ours is very similar but silver blades. I like the black blades better.

Hey tribe,
The set lights can be square or round and usually used in the wall just above the treads.

We have also been a little creative and used the same step light along our entry passage. Just staggered from one side to the other. I think we have 4 for the entry and 4 for the stairs.

Yeah MUCH easier to buy items as we progress. We have 3 complete bedroom suites on a sort of laybuy with Super Amart. No time, e like, it as long as we make regular payments. I told them we didn't want them until house is finished lo

That's a cool idea to stagger them along the passage. Have you picked your kitchen pendant yet? Sorry I can't remember.

Yeap agree I brought all kinds of stuff while building and it saves so much, you will have your hand permanently in your pocket when you start landscaping so every bit now helps. Hey you can be a fill scab too, if you need fill to level out your yard or fill up retaining walls call the pool companies a couple of days in advance and they will deliver it for free or drive around looking for site cuts and ask the truck driver (that's what I did and saved a bundle) that's good amart are happy to hold it for you.

How's progress with your house going? You been wrapped? Any bricks delivered or gyprock started?

How's those display homes going? Better not be over taking you

Lol I'll get some updates posted later today when I get home. It has been wrapped (lower only), gyprock has been delivered and I believe bricks were delivered yesterday. :-)
