Just on the wet rooms with the shower / bath next to each other - they look beautiful in magazines, but from a practicality perspective they leave me cold. I think about the dust under the bath that is difficult to get to, the water getting stuck in there & pooling, and just generally creating mud / streaks / pain in the butt for cleaning. Definitely that is why we decided to go for the configuration we chose in the end. Ok, you walk into the shower but it is just more practical. It will still have a bit of that element but nothing like our original (new) plan of having the shower and bath behind one screen. Thinking a matte neutral in a large format, also having some of that on the walls combined with a white gloss. Concerned 600 x 600 would just look oversized in the bathrooms on the floor though? As they aren't big rooms? We are having shower grates so the builder does not have a problem with getting the fall right if we do choose larger tiles. Re: our custom knock down rebuild - Newcastle NSW - selectio 84Aug 23, 2015 3:20 am Well we have a wall! Or part of one.. We were hoping they'd build the bollards that will support the floor this week but they're predicting rain, see how we go. Edited to add.. Chance of rain today is 100% One advantage of building on bearers and joists is the excitement of seeing bricks early on in the process.. Ha ha.. Re: our custom knock down rebuild - Newcastle NSW - selectio 85Aug 24, 2015 4:41 pm Yayy! You are not far behind us at all. We are just about to start the bearers and joists part of the flooring. Except there is rain forecasted for the whole week. Boooo. Re: our custom knock down rebuild - Newcastle NSW - selectio 89Aug 26, 2015 11:40 am Great to see progress on site today despite the grey weather. So far this week we've only lost one day, Monday. It's exciting to see the outline of the house coming together. Re: our custom knock down rebuild - Newcastle NSW - selectio 90Aug 26, 2015 11:42 am Abztronic Yayy! You are not far behind us at all. Keep the progress and the pics coming I will for sure. Yep not bad our start date (demolition) was July 17 and that got held up due to that rain we had too so they are making good progress. Our finance was slow, I had a baby around the same time we were applying for the loan and the broker kept making mistakes which were difficult for us to chase in the whirlwind of the new Bub. Builder understandably got a bit peeved and anxious for his deposit. Once he got started he got started. Looked at your plan, big project! I'm sure it will be happening soon enough. This builder's scheduling has been very neat. Surveyors literally pulled up as demo guys were finishing up etc etc. Re: our custom knock down rebuild - Newcastle NSW - selectio 96Aug 27, 2015 12:23 pm Our builder is quite busy from what I can gather so it's likely that your build will overtake mine. I hope your build goes smoothly. The brickies work quick don't they The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 20092 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 14238 |
