Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12716Aug 05, 2015 7:12 am @Steven_La: You are correct, there is only 1 appointment with Di Lorenzo. You attend the appointment (and using common sense you would arrive having done some decent research/have your colour choices roughly decided upon), and then if you need to change your mind, Di Lorenzo give you one opportunity to alter your selections without charging you a fee for the privilege - and you do this via phone or email. My build timeframe was initially 6-8 months for a single storey home, however due to the shortage of tradespeople at the time, my build started in mid September '14 & was completed 20 July '15; ~40 weeks (taking into account the Christmas shutdown & inclement weather also). I didn't have a problem with the timeframe since I would much prefer something gets done properly & lasts, rather than gets rushed & problems arise later. We are still waiting on some PCVs even though our second selection appointment was over 5 weeks ago. Does anyone know whether we have to deal with the customer service administrator once all the paperwork is complete and the build has commenced? Without going into detail, the person we are dealing with isn't very good at their job and are providing a very negative impression of Eden Brae. I'm wondering whether it is worth asking for someone else. Thanks! Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12718Aug 05, 2015 11:49 am Hi Marko56 & pixigt25, thanks for your reply. Your points are valid. Well the reason is that I'm thinking of getting home automation (controlling lights, blinds & security system) and I may go forward with a structured wiring to accommodate. So I wonder how that will work with the main circuits outside of the house. My construction is starting and I plan to discuss this with Home Smart Innovation soon. Has anyone done electrical changes while in construction? How much did EBH and HSI charge for the admin fee? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 12719Aug 05, 2015 4:39 pm Quick question, what is the standard lightbulb that EB puts in the batten holder? What wattage and is it bayonet or Edison screw? I think the CSA comes back in to play for handover but that's about it.
