nice choice my friend built the Heywood 29, think its a great house! she changed the loungeroom and courtyard to a theatre room and added the alfresco to outside of the rumpus room!! Something different! Re: Our Homey - Finally Moved In!! 16Dec 21, 2008 5:43 pm borg Hi It looks like they fell short on your slab. Are you gong to get someone to have a look at it to see if everything is ok??? What do you mean borg? It all looks like it's supposed to be where it's supposed to be.. but we will be getting an independant inspection at pre-plaster stage. Where do you think it looks short? Re: Our Homey - Finally Moved In!! 17Dec 21, 2008 6:16 pm I can see what borg means....at the front , next to your "lap pool" the framework seems to extend down to the level where the bricks will start. I guess there's probably something borg and I are overlooking though
Cheers zeke Re: Our Homey - Finally Moved In!! 18Dec 21, 2008 10:43 pm Hey Majic,
Yeah on the right hand side of the house. Instead of the bottom plate resting on the slab it looks to rest on "Legs". I thought I'd bring this to your attention so you are aware of it - (if i am seeing it properly) I have seen some fixed better than others. So just mention it to your inspector and see what he thinks and the best way for it to be fixed, it the slab is short like i think see in the photo. Re: Our Homey - Finally Moved In!! 19Dec 22, 2008 10:15 am majikalmushroom, reader request here : can you post a floor plan, I think it makes the house fit together for the reader if we can see the plan on the screen - I looked on your blog but didn't find one there either.
My house is finished now but I love reading these house building threads Re: Our Homey - Finally Moved In!! 20Dec 25, 2008 2:06 pm Hi guys..
Quick update.. the roof tiles are nearly finished! Yay! SS was telling the truth.. still no pork pies on his part. Good for him! Partner went to see if anything had happened in the last week cuz we got a letter from PD saying that work will 'slow down', or pretty much stop during the Christmas period and resume mid Jan. Not that we're in a rush, but we wanted to see something else! borg & zeke - I can see what you mean now. We will definately bring it up with our inspector when he does the pre-plaster inspection. I asked my uncle about it as well cuz he's in the industry and he said it's pretty common, but he said it looks like it's been done pretty well. Will still mention it to inspector as there's a couple of other things we'd like him to have a look at.. like the way the plumber hacked away at our frame to put in the plumbing. Looks a bit *******... Helyn - Here's a floor plan just as you requested.. hee hee. This is just a general one, ours has been flipped as our driveway is on the left hand side (looking from the street). Been meaning to put one up for a while but got lazy.. haha. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sorry.. it's a bit small I think.. not too sure how to get it any bigger, but you get the general idea. If you really want, you can go to the PD website and look it up there! I'm so technologically inept!! Anyway.. they've also put in the insulation for the exterior walls (I'm not quite sure what it's called, but I know there's a proper name for it!), pretty much finished the plumbing, and our bi-folds! I'm not too sure how safe it is to have them in, but if they get wrecked it's on the builder to replace them right? Will post some pics when I get them from the other half.. Roof tiles before Christmas.. who'dve thunk it? In my opinion just a few more indoor plants and you're done. It's already a lovely space, you've managed a classic style without being too cluttered and that creates a… 1 21696 Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
