Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 602Jun 19, 2015 6:53 pm Cabinetry is complete! .. after seeing the kitchen come to life I'm not sure the colours are the best colours. as well as the handles for the pot drawers, I do remember DW wasn't keen on longer handles for the pot drawers which we had at our previous place. the top doors are either push to open or extends a little further for the hand to grip the doors (forgot what you call it all the wet areas I think once tiles and bench top go in it will be fine kitchen .. the bench top for the island is wider than the cabinetry without the waterfall so hopefully it will look ok Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ the laundry (photo was taken straight after it was semi cleaned so the room was really hazy) powder room ensuite cabinetry ... nothing too fancy as we had selected a colour that was in the display house and ran with it through out the wet areas Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 603Jun 19, 2015 7:12 pm Looks great from here. I think there are called finger grip? what's the issue with the long pot drawer handles? Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 605Jun 19, 2015 7:27 pm Ah I see. Is your wife happy with them? Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 606Jun 19, 2015 7:37 pm Ah I see. Is your wife happy with them? Yeah .. my wife selected the handles so she HAS to like them hahaha I prefer it to be a little more symmetrical based on size of door or drawer.. even the pantry doors look a little small for the door hahaha Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 607Jun 19, 2015 7:50 pm I like large handles, so long as they're soft closed! Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 609Jun 19, 2015 9:30 pm Cabinets look fantastic deluded! Love them Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 610Jun 19, 2015 10:17 pm I think you will find the cabinet colours will look different again once the walls are painted (especially the bulkhead). I think the handles look good. Mind you I couldn't agree with the boss so we went with shark nose doors and draws ( no handles). I've got 2 sets of push to open on either side of the top cupboards including the centre where the rangehood will be then 2 sets of cupboard doors with the shark nose opening Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 612Jun 29, 2015 10:39 am @deluded you have been quiet... @finnerz74 shark nose drawers... just check in and see how they are making them... I've been a bit disappointed in our implementation of it as we have lost a lot of valuable drawer height (and I suspect it was from the sharknose-ness) Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 613Jun 29, 2015 11:55 am The colors look lovely and agree that they would look different once the walls are painted. This has been nagging me for some time.. Are the alfresco tiles that are part of the standard range 600*300 ones or the 450*450 ones.. i think i chose 600*300 and havent' asked if the exisitng 450*450 would go for outdoors.. I now have have a feeling that the 600*300 ones would look really bad and if I should go for a variation.. I've been a bit disappointed in our implementation of it as we have lost a lot of valuable drawer height (and I suspect it was from the sharknose-ness) nothing to update as I haven't been able to go inside and not sure who has been at the property to do any sort of work. I believe the architraves and doors are all done. skirting not yet, plaster board for the fireplace not yet so sequence of work is unknown you can see the pic of my kitchen when it was doorless either side of the rangehood are sharknose doors so not sure if I have lost much. what do you reckon Yvonne? Thanks raina, I hope once the cornice is installed and walls are painted it will blend well. as for Alfresco tiles I am not sure what is in the standard range. I've checked my selection and my alfresco and front porch tile is the same and is a 600x300. Did you specify at tiling selection how you want it tiled? Maybe when you reach to that stage ask the site supervisor that you wish to speak to the tilers to make sure its done the way you want? Cupboards are fine, it's just the drawers when they need to leave room for the sharknose... As for your cupboards if they are on the top cupboards (and the opening bit on the bottom) they are finger grip (stupid name) I believe. Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - lockup 616Jun 30, 2015 12:26 am That must be so painful when your locked out. I will tell myself it's good when it happens to me ... As it will keep the riff raff out Re: Alkira Homes 617Jul 01, 2015 10:13 pm TomCatThat must be so painful when your locked out. I will tell myself it's good when it happens to me ... As it will keep the riff raff out so had to feed the rest of the pic piggies when I can't get access myself I'll have to wait until the next walk through to be able to take plenty of photos, then look at everything will a lot more detail and prepare my list of things to fix before I take keys Re: Alkira Homes 619Jul 06, 2015 11:47 pm Building4my3totsTiling for the wet areas has commenced, benches, sinks and vanities are in and hopefully by the end of the week the tiles for the alfresco wil be finished too Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - tiling 620Jul 17, 2015 2:37 am Ohhh just had a look through and that void is sensational, what amazing natural light your kitchen will have. Roll on tiling, hope you can get in for some more pics. The fire place looks very appealing (stupid freezing weather) your front door is very grand too, good call with the height. That said, given the structural risks and prior… 7 35001 Same, I worry that cladding/render will require some maintenance, and replacement eventually.
