Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1147May 21, 2015 8:04 am Ardie thanks for the photos I'm still in love with your front door and I love your house all lit up. Sounds like you've been very busy and productive, apart from the neighbour damage - I hope they've agreed to fix it? Anyway, didn't really mean to put pressure on you to keep us updated I know it is a very very busy time - but it was lovely to hear from you! Hope the rest is plain sailing and your move goes smoothly Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1148May 25, 2015 10:30 pm Only 5 more sleeps until we move in!!! Sorry I don't have too many good pictures. Things are all messy. Making progress, mostly forward, but seems like it's 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Painting went beautifully. Tiles look great and are almost done. Solar panels went on today. Clothesline installed. TV antenna installed, but turns out there are electrical problems and our C1 points are working. Paving moving along but some problems with the driveway. Hopefully he'll sort it tomorrow. Still quite a few outstanding pci issues. Mostly no big deal but a few we really wanted done before we move in because they're going to have to re plaster and paint a few areas and rip up tiles. And our slider doors are still not very stable. Slowly but surely It's all coming together. The tiles aren't done (and filthy) and I don't think I've captured the colours well but here's some pics Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1149May 25, 2015 10:31 pm Only 5 more sleeps until we move in!!! You're not kidding trixee! Weve been in for 2 months now and still havent got all the dust off the flyscreens, runners etc etc!! A fairy would be lovely hey ardie! Or maybe a muscle mutt in a g string that loves housework?!!! Haha! So happy for you ardie...hang in there...5 more sleeps..wow!!! Your kitchen looks bewdiful btw!!! Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1152May 25, 2015 11:55 pm ardie, sorry to hear there are still some outstanding issues I'll keep everything crossed they'll fix it for you before you move in or very soon after. That is a bit bad luck re the C1 isn't it? I assume it wouldn't be possible to check that before an antenna was installed? Do you always need an antenna even in NBN areas? I have so much to learn definitely won't want parents to have TV/Internet/Phone issues. Hope the driveway sorts itself out too Your tiles look lovely - they're big 60cm ones? The paint looks beautiful and I can just imagine what it'll look like when you've done up the IT nook bit! (for a minute there I thought my god how did they get a garden done so quickly until I realised it is the park next to you ) Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1153May 26, 2015 12:00 pm Everything looks fantastic Ardie! I wonder if you'll be able to sleep the night before the big move (doubt it )!!!! Great choice for the tiles, they look really nice against the dark island. I so wish I could snap my fingers and have it all done, but it's getting there. Not really a long weekend for us. Hubby doesn't have off and Monday is actually the start of a new teaching term online for me. Have tried to get everything posted in advance this week both kids home so maybe I'll put them to work! Rache You're not kidding trixee! Weve been in for 2 months now and still havent got all the dust off the flyscreens, runners etc etc!! A fairy would be lovely hey ardie! MalSannie ardie, sorry to hear there are still some outstanding issues I'll keep everything crossed they'll fix it for you before you move in or very soon after. (for a minute there I thought my god how did they get a garden done so quickly until I realised it is the park next to you ) Ha ha wish that was our garden, but it's so nice having a view of some greenery since I think it might be a while until ours goes in. It'll all get fixed eventually yes there isn't really any way to test the to points. The antenna guy had some scanner machine. Electrician went out today and says he fixed them but won't know for sure until we hook up a tv. Antenna is for free tv, we don't have Foxtel. Nbn is the internet connection. Wired to same plate but for two different end uses. Yep 60 x 60 tiles. I love them justy Everything looks fantastic Ardie! I wonder if you'll be able to sleep the night before the big move (doubt it )!!!! Great choice for the tiles, they look really nice against the dark island. Can't wait to see more pics Treeseachanger I agree, the dark island really looks good against the tiles and paint!! nikkis2000 It's looking great Ardie. You must be so excited that big move is so close!! Thank you thank you! We love the contrast. The bamboo started today and it's so dark and warm and gorgeous. Also the travertine on the alfresco. Will take some good pics tomorrow. So our tiles are grouted and done. The tiler did an amazing job especially with all the little cuts around the door frames and in the closet. They're filthy and I was going to start cleaning tomorrow. All you experts out there what's the best way to get that haze off and clean them up? Tiler suggested vinegar. What about the Formica? And the essastone? Everything has a thick layer of crud on it. Suggestions??? Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1157May 28, 2015 3:47 am Wish I could help you ardie but I haven't the foggiest! I'm very jealous of the 60x60 tiles it makes such a huge difference in the overall look Re the data points etc - I'm completely clueless think I may send a query to RedInk asking what it is exactly we'll be getting - not convinced it will be sufficient now! Thanks for the heads up as usual Can't wait to see your bamboo and travertine and grouted tiles. And those beautiful lights over your island bench it'll look spectacular Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1158May 28, 2015 12:04 pm Cleaning formica, just some mild detergent and water. You'd best go by the stone manufacturer's recommendations on the benchtop, I don't think you should use anything too harsh... Looking forward to the bamboo pics!!! and vinegar in a bucket of water for the tiles sounds right. Makes the place smell like a fish and chip shop though.... Re: Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1159May 31, 2015 11:01 am Moving day went well and I still can't believe we're in our new home! It's surreal actually. Been thinking about it for so long. It feels so comfortable. Lots still to do but feels like the hardest parts are behind us. Here's a few pics from before we moved our stuff in. Once it's remotely put together and cleaned (this dust is doing my lungs in) I'll add more pics. Love our dark bamboo, it's gorgeous. Shows everything though and we need rugs. Clearly we chose looks over practicality (so unlike us ) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Master bedroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Alfresco (travertine still wet from getting washed) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The boys room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Activity room out to alfresco Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Living into office/theatre Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Redink SOR First time builders-The end has arrived! 1160May 31, 2015 12:37 pm Wow looks great ardie! Must be so exciting to be in your beautiful house! Enjoy setting it all up! I love travertine in the alfreco it really looks awesome as well as the floors throughout! Well done, you have done a really good job. Ps. My boys will also share and I cannot wait to go hunting for a bunk bed so cute! Minimum overhang into gutter must be 50mm, turn down tool should not split the sheet. it seems wrong tool for the profile was used, the flashing cannot slope back.
