Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 20, 2015 9:37 am Hello, I am having some issues with arranging my benchtop to put on top of my floorboards with the stone mason. The reason I want to put it on top is because I do not want any beading. So the plan is to have the cabinets put in then the flooring and then the waterfall bench on top of the flooring or to have the cabinets put in with the waterfall cut shorter to the degree of a floorboard . The issue is that the stone guy is concerned with having that amount of weight suspended from the floor or having that much weight sitting on top of the floorboards. What is common practice for those wanting to install a waterfall without benching? Thanks. Im assuming we will have no other choice than to use the beading, sigh. Re: Waterfall bench on top of floorboards 3May 20, 2015 10:57 am My ends of island are not stone but board but I am going to try and get my installers to install kitchen using my 6mm vinyl plank scrap as a spacer. I am doing my vinyl floor plank install after handover. I am having skirts left off too and will need to install them after handover myself. That includes painting skirting boards, cutting them and installing after handover. That is the best Simonds Homes would offer. Re: Waterfall bench on top of floorboards 4May 20, 2015 11:09 am Hi. We are doing hardwood flooring and caesarstone benchtops with waterfall edges and i also hate beading. We are lucky enough to be owner builder so are doing our hardwood flooring before kitchen cabinets and stone. The Kitchen installer as you have previously mentioned has advised against installation on top of floating type timber floors. I think goodys option is the only other option if you dont like beading. Good luck. Re: Waterfall bench on top of floorboards 6May 20, 2015 12:40 pm This was a similar recent thread highlighting some issues: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=77133 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
