yvonnehjust looking at those display pics... make sure you get those architraves! I know ours look skinny. I'm checking back now on the display home pics I have for our house as I'd love to get wider ones like the ones in your pics! 
thanks yvonne .. I'll have to read my tender/contract and see what was offered. I took up their top of the line package offering so I'm pretty sure that it will be the same as display. Have sent email to SS to see if it can be bricks all around and the concrete steps sit on top.
If I can add the fireplace in there it would be even better. However, having gone to Jetmaster to discuss size and requirements etc. I will need the largest gas fireplace they have, unfortunately with a larger fireplace means it is quite bulky. So at a minimum it will stick out 500mm from the wall, which may be a bit too much given the room where it is located is not that big. The heat from it will hopefully flow up via the void and the stairs then utilising the fans force the heat back down circulating and warming up the house.
the only thing I need to work out is where the flue will sit. Articulation Joint on the bricks right in the middle of that room means I can't put the flue there.
All I can do now is look at those display home photos and dream
