Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Nov 02, 2014 5:30 pm We want to have our kitchen island bench look like this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ At the moment we have laminate cupboards and benchtops. The kitchen company our builder uses has indicated that they are having trouble with the legs to the table part - we want wood (or wood look) legs like in the picture, but they have said they can't match it to the laminate and will look awful. They are suggesting metal legs, but we don't like the look of that. Is it possible to have laminate legs? Or could we do whole kitchen and table legs in vinyl wrap? Or is our only option to have a 2 pack kitchen to match the legs? We will be meeting with the kitchen company soon, but our experience so far with them has been that they aren't too helpful or forthcoming with all of our options so I want to know what to ask for! Thank you! Re: Help with cabinetry-how can we achieve thiswhat to ask f 2Nov 02, 2014 9:42 pm I can not see why they can not make the legs using the same material as the doors. Are the doors in your kitchen very old ? If you are doing the whole kitchen than its quite easy to make the legs. First option is use the board used for the doors and cut mitred strips say 10mm wide or however wide needed and just biscuit join them together or second is to make a mdf leg and than laminate the leg but generally is the dearer option as more labour. So the first option, would that be hollow inside the leg? Would that provide weight support for the benchtop? That sounds like what we want to do. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 16454 Ardo That is so funny!
