Good luck with the build. Hi raina, The Suncalc is easy to use, type in your address and it will take you to your location (just like google maps). Select the date you want to see where the sun rises and sets. Might be too high for good lighting that way though. Should be fine for fans I would think. We thought about that but then it will be hanging there for the sake of it with very little practical use. Which means I will have to rely on the wall lights which I have provisioned to provide "task" lighting. Also, trying to find a pendant that has enough cord without using ugly looking chains. ForgCan you hang pendants, or maybe a large flattish fitting with multiple lights in it, so they're below the height where they affect view from upstairs? That's what we thought of as well, a large pendant with the multi light fitting. We also looked at one that sits right up the top, but due to height we gathered that it will look rather odd and there'll be a bit of glare from upstairs. Then there's the issue of bulb replacement for that sort of light. I'm so full of it!
