Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 552Apr 26, 2014 9:40 pm Hi lot 927, Yes we are doing maitland 40 also, with the grand alfresco, and changing the garage by extending it to the back exterior wall, so this will make 4 car garage. We will start building hopefully March/April next year. I was curious as to when you think yours would be finished as we are hopefully going to be starting around the same time as you guys, but a year apart. I love your blog you created, it would be great to see "real life" pictures of the home. I did email clarendon last week about getting some real pictures, but they only have the computer generated ones, so we were a little disappointed. It is a fantastic design, it flows easy, and has so much room. Are you building in sydney? We have looked also at doing the tiles post handover, there are some great tile places in sydney and the tiles are a bargain, considering how many metres squared we will need lol! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 554Apr 28, 2014 2:04 pm hi @our_build please tell me your the one in our street. As there is one in our street gone to DA already. Where are you at? Are we neighbors? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 556Apr 29, 2014 11:57 am Anyone build with a prominent facade? Are you happy with it and did you get render too? We have selected the prominent facade for a Glenelg 29, but have removed the parapet, ie the extra block bit in the front. Wanted something that looked more like the axis. Hope it is not too stark now. Any thoughts? Building with Clarendon, Glenelg 29 on the northern beaches, Sydney Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 557Apr 29, 2014 11:58 am @our_build Have you seen the grey gum forum? Also what are you looking at building, who is your contact at Clarendon? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 558Apr 29, 2014 2:02 pm @cheryl_2105, we used the prominent facade on our Parkhill 29 and left the Parapet on, its not rendered yet but you can see what it will look like on my blog. www.firsthomebuilder.wordpress.com Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 559Apr 30, 2014 8:52 am jayjay84 - we are building the Glenelg 27, oxford façade in Newcastle. We ahvent really made any changes to the layout, except to move the stacker door to the side of the house, instead of the back... so we have more yard... and we had about 8 meters to the side fence, so the deck will go on the side. We have now signed off on all our colours/inclusions... and have just made our electrical appointment. Ive been trying to get hold of my CSC to find out what happens with the bushfire stuff... but she doesn't answer her phone, and only emails. Im guessing some more things will need to be added to cover this... we had a PA in our tender for it... but interested to know what we need to do. Finally, for those interested... our timeline is as follows up to now (I know I was really keen to find out how long everything would take when we started the ball rolling!) 08.01 - First Quote 11.01 - Paid $1000 for tender prep 09.02 - Tender Presentation 13.02 - Paid $4000 to accept tender 05.03 - First contract back - was all wrong, no changes made to plans 22.03 - Second contract back - mostly right. Signed contract with a few variations 10.04 - Colours appointment 12.04 - Tiles appointment 07.05 - Electricals If I could work out how to upload a document, I would post the electricals pricelist as they have given that to us already... but I cant work it out. If you want it, let me know and I can email it. Not sure if it varies from Newcastle to Sydney though....
