We're building with PD Prestige, and overhead cupboards aren't even standard in that range!!! They made a big mistake on our quote for ours, though, and had to honour it ....... Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 10Sep 11, 2008 10:05 pm Overhead cupboards were standard in our contract, read the specifications to check on anything like this.
Very painful if you assume you are going to get something and its not included However, I have seen kitchens without overhead cupboards so perhaps not everyone wants them? Can't imagine why not? Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 11Sep 11, 2008 10:32 pm I went to their Keysborough Prestige displays and the sales rep there 'S' told me everything that wasn't standard in the whole house - right down to the prices and what upgrades were available. Answered about 40 questions straight off the top of her head. I was most impressed - Those sales people really need to know their stuff.. Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 12Sep 11, 2008 11:05 pm haywgl We are building a Cremorne and we had to pay for the overhead cupboards with slideout rangehood - it came in at $1566 or something, but then we got credited for having the slideout rangehood so it came back at about $1211 for 6 overheads and slideout rangehood I didn't want the canopy rangehood, but wanted the slideout with cabinets all along the wall. You'd think I would get a credit seeing I was downgrading the rhangehood - Oh noooooo, we were told we were upgrading ? huh? Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 13Sep 11, 2008 11:13 pm Helyn However, I have seen kitchens without overhead cupboards so perhaps not everyone wants them? Can't imagine why not? We were thinking of not having overhead cupboards...but I'm not sure now. I like the look of them, but hate not being able to reach anything in them and that I always have to get the stepping stool out As I said we were thinking of giving them a miss in the new house as we are going from a tiny kitchen, to a reasonable sized kitchen with a WIP the size of our current kitchen ...I can't wait . Anyway, jury is still out on the overhead cupboards...it will most probably come down to $$$$ - as always 'chelle We have a hand-over date...15/10...but I won't hold my breath! http://people-in-glass-houses.blogspot.com/ Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 14Sep 12, 2008 8:04 am House-To-Be The value was just over $700 (from memory) and length is 2.7m Sorry make that $1,167 for our overhead cupboards inc. the slide out rangehood. Happy at Home Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 17Sep 12, 2008 8:34 am Yes you are right you have to think of everything but I dont think it should be that way, We did do a walk through but it was one of the many things that were never pointed out to us.
Thank goodness for this forum I say. Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 18Sep 12, 2008 8:59 am Southies - don't be silly!
Credit for anything you change, hahaha! Rule no 1- whatever you change will be considered an upgrade, even if logic tells you it must cost less We got a few prices removed but only because we removed the item altogether - they can hardly charge you for not haveing anything! (for example, our house/land package included front landscaping which we removed so we can do it ourselves) Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 19Sep 12, 2008 9:12 am gosh, this topic brings back bad memories! hehehe....
we're building with PD too...and our promo had included the slide out rangehood and over head cabinets... we didnt want the slide out and opted for the actual canopy rangehood, and our sales rep said that would be fine because the slide out costed more... anyway, fast forward to the contract and we noticed that the overhead cabinets weren't in the drawings!!! long story short, because the promo said "slide out range hood with overhead cabinets" we weren't entitled to the overhead cabinets because we were getting the canopy rangehood.. cos i'm too soft, i couldnt be bothered arguing...so we paid to get it upgraded....it costs us $737 for two cabinets either side of the rangehood...grrrr anywya, good luck penny! everyone's pricing seems to be around the same, so at least u know how much it will cost u, if u decide to upgrade Re: PD lifestyle are overhead cupboards standard? 20Sep 12, 2008 9:23 am Newbies we didnt want the slide out and opted for the actual canopy rangehood, and our sales rep said that would be fine because the slide out costed more... Just to clarify this, the canopy rangehoods are more expensive, BUT the slide out with overheads is more expensive. They always include overheads with a slideout, because it has to have them. But the canopy is just the canopy. So in order of price from cheapest: Slideout rangehood Canopy rangehood Slideout with overheads (two cupboards above the rangehood). Because the slideouts must have overheads, they end up working out more expensive. That's what your rep would have meant Newbies, the slideout cost more cos it included the overheads, so you get a credit, but then have to pay for different overheads to suit the canopy all on the sides. So the price is the difference. Does that make sense? But still a rip off. Same with Southies, it's probably considered an upgrade because you removed the canopy but then replaced with slide out with cupboards above it. Thus the upgrade. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Hi, Can anyone give me approx. price for overhead cupboards. TIA 0 16830 Bigger the better for storage for me IMO. But I guess it's harder to tell the cost/benefit in your example - mainly the 'cost'? If you go 700mm, what are you doing extra… 2 3066 I am looking at replacing some overhead power cable and I am trying to work out what gauge of cable this is so I can price it. The outer edge of the sheath has a diameter… 0 316 |
