Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3122May 21, 2013 5:47 pm Forg we signed our Tender at the end of April & moved in last weekend. You are certainly one patient person! I hope that it starts to speed up for you soon! Well we are moved in and I absolutely love our new house! Our furniture was delivered yesterday & it looks great. We received a $200 voucher and apparently we are the first ones to receive this (sorry Tarsha if you are reading this!) I was very happy to get something in return for all the money we spent with them! We still are without a dishwasher, 1 screen door and a rendered letterbox oh and an occupation certificate. apparently we have to get one ourselves which means I cant get bins!! The only real disappointment is not moving into a clean house! There is fingerprints all over the doors still & the floors are not clean and I think they should get new cleaners as the ones they have do not do a satisfactory job. So all in all very happy with our house and I guess I will have to start cleaning this house now after cleaning the rental all weekend! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3123May 21, 2013 7:32 pm Congrats MelC We paid for our tender in mid March 2012 and yet to have a final inspection date set with our SS. It seems like there are so many things left to do and it doesn't seem like we are getting any closer. Hopefully things will start to pick up soon. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3124May 21, 2013 7:37 pm Hi mel congrats on moving in! We still don't have an OC and we got bins.. I'm pretty sure that you have to get bins first? Your place looks fantastic! I'm really confused as to why we weren't given anything. I was a fantastic advocate for Rawson but after everything and the on going things that still haven't been fixed (which I no longer have time to follow up) I really don't think I'd be sending anyone too them.. All it would have taken was an apology and a gesture of appreciation of the money spent and time we spent waiting and dealing with stuff and I would have been happy. I'm planning on posting some pictures in the next day or two so keep an eye out Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3125May 21, 2013 9:03 pm Looking forward to seeing your pics AND also your experiences post handover Tarsha if you have time. Our SS has been really good to date, and I'm interested in seeing how things get rectified now we've actually identified and provided feedback on it to get fixed. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3127May 23, 2013 9:36 am Guess not much is happening all around with this weather... We have a roof on... quite happy as we didnt want our boards to get soaked! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3128May 23, 2013 10:12 am Have updated our Blog. Great to see everyone's progress. Congratulations Mel C! Jen, glad things are coming together. Tarsha, Rawson are only just now starting to hand out vouchers, I believe. Maybe they'll send you one, if you complain? Good Luck. Duessel - I had a look at your blog yesterday. Your house is powering along, I cannot believe you are up to gyprock already. Didn't they only put down your slab last week? Lots of work at our house. Stone in for the kitchen and the bathrooms on Tuesday. Painting is still going, yesterday they were doing the external painting while the weather was good. Tiling started yesterday Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3130May 23, 2013 12:19 pm Excellent Dussle and Jen. Jen your kitchen bench is the same size as ours, my wife was very excited to see it. We have successfully changed our internal paint colour to a dulux colour... thanks Mel C for telling us this was possible. Didnt want to gamble on the whole house. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3132May 23, 2013 1:06 pm Jen we didnt end up getting the referral bonus as they couldnt find the paper work... And I no longer have time to chase it up anymore My very first blog http://benham33.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3133May 23, 2013 1:23 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A photo of the kitchen that went in on Monday (plus some extra work they've done since then). Looking good. Also, the tiling has been marked to be fixed up, which is good, I hope they do it a better job this time around. My dad informed me that painting had started, and carpentry on a few doors is in the works. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3134May 23, 2013 3:05 pm Koroboo - love your kitchen. Tarsha - are you serious you did not get that referral bonus.
