Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3061May 11, 2013 2:37 pm B and K are you talking about the Chifley at home world south Gledswood Hills? If you are I think that is polytec truffle lini, we did our kitchen in that as well. They also have the same floor tiles as us but they are honed and we went with gloss. I will put some photos of our kitchen on tomorrow night as we are installing our splash backs this weekend and the kitchen will nearly be finished. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3062May 11, 2013 4:04 pm Contracts finally in and application for CC submitted . Our CSO has said that our SS should be getting our file in 2 weeks! Finally! Only took a 9 month tender period to get to here... I know people that signed their tender with a different company and have already moved into their house last week. I think Rawson had better lift their game.. On the plus side, we have more time to save for our landscaping and plantation shutters. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3064May 13, 2013 8:02 am My kitchen has landed!!! Went to the house this morning as usual and the truck with the kitchen showed up just as I got there. I have found that a lot of the tradies come from the Central Coast and they usually get up to my place after 7:30am. I am looking forward to visiting at lunch to see the kitchen - I guess there is a blessing to DD having to visit the fracture clinic today Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3067May 13, 2013 10:48 am B and K Belle n Dave have you spoken to your SS about when to expect your frames? Our SS said that we won't get our frames delivered until the 27th May as there is a delay at the place that produces them. It's a shame as everything was going full steam ahead. I guess at least it will give our slab plenty of time to cure? How long after slabs being poured did everyone else have their frames go up? that's a shame, nope no delays on ours...they are scheduled to go up on the 21st May... Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3068May 13, 2013 11:42 pm We are getting our keys on Thursday morning I can't believe this moment has finally come!! Our carpet went in today and it looks really good. They also finally fixed the slab in the garage with some kind of smelly stuff, but I am so glad they fixed it as it was so sandy and dirty and they kept walking it through the house onto my beautiful tiles. I assume the appliances, air con and hot water will be installed on Thursday when we hand the cheque over. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3070May 14, 2013 6:02 am Belle & Dave- that's great news. I cannot wait to see pictures (hint, hint). we are building in Georges Fair - Moorebank area Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3073May 14, 2013 10:24 am We have received our check plans (now called Application Plans or AP). I have also updated our blog with a list of our colour choices for externals. I will get photos once I work out how! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3074May 14, 2013 11:23 am SheridanBenjamin - looking forward to seeing a picture of the external colours. We also have chickens. We took them to our rental house (not that the agent knew they were there) and after a year of being in the garden of the rental, we moved them to the block a couple of months ago. Not the most ideal as I have to go there twice a day to let them in and out of their house, but they are a lot more secure than they were at the rental. I think for memory yours is 950mm wide like ours was and it should have come with one. When ours was installed yesterday they put the insert in the smaller drawers and the 950mm wide set does not have one. Our SS does not think they can make them that wide, but Tracey told you it comes with the cutlery insert and they have one the same size at the show home. Jen, our insert has also been supplied for the smaller drawers, not the 950mm. From memory, when I asked at colours whether the cutlery drawer came with an insert I don't think I specified the 950mm - just assumed. Just goes to show you should never assume anything. Not going to accept that. Have you said anything???? I am getting our SS to chase it up and I will get onto colours and see what she has to say. Mel c- wow!!! Finally getting your keys, congrats!!!! I can only dream of that day at the moment hehe!! Jen- love love love the look of your kitchen!!! It looks amazing and you haven't even got the bench tops on yet. Love the design, can't wait to see it all done. Hope cutlery tray gets sorted for you : ) We got a text from our SS this morning saying that the excavators will be on site by the end of the week. Was hoping things would have started early this week but very appreciative of the update given by our SS off his own back. Hope it continues. Does anyone know how long the excavation process takes and how long after is slab laid? Can't get excited til I see a slab : ) Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
