Will start our own thread soon Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 82Oct 29, 2014 8:25 am Bloody bank! Still waiting for them to call me back. We need details for Coral before they can send the contract to head office. Our loan is a bit tricky because we're using our rather substantial redraw for part of the funding, but I'm not sure whether that's classed as us funding the build or if it's still the bank funding it? Anyway, I'll continue to wait impatiently for them to call. I thinking waiting two days for a call back is atrocious customer service Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 83Oct 29, 2014 8:31 am Quote: I thinking waiting two days for a call back is atrocious customer service Unfortunately I think you will have to get used to that... Coral's SS schedules say 3 days for a reply.... its torture!! Building a Modified Coral Daydream 28, first build, first home and land owners. Acreage Build in Buccan, QLD. Room for the two new puppies Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 84Oct 30, 2014 10:33 am *sigh* can you believe we have to do the whole application again? Awesome. Not. After originally being told that they would just ask us to send in updated payslips we now have to send in the form again (all ten pages) with the same information on it and the EXACT SAME tax statements. Thank God we're not in a hurry for this. I chucked a tanty last night when the guy called me back, then had a sook but now am just resigned. I have to say, the bank has BY FAR been the worst thing to deal with during this whole process. Coral have been slow at times, but at least they've kept me informed. The bank has just been awful. If it wasn't so hard we'd go elsewhere but to really start from scratch would be even more painful Oh, and I can't email the application form, it has to be FAXED. Who FAXES in this day and age??!?!?! *rant over* Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 85Oct 30, 2014 10:34 am Oh and we've booked in our tile appointment at Beaumont for the 16th of November. They wanted us in earlier, but we just don't have the time. It's all happening now Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 86Oct 30, 2014 10:39 am I had issues with my bank as well. Considering you are paying them hundreds of thousands in interest, they could at least try a bit harder. Looking forward to seeing your color selections, and then photos of the build! Ours has been ridiculously helpful, ringing us as soon as we need an extra document or anything, and I was thinking it WAS because they were wanting to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest off us, but clearly it's not the same for all banks! Yey for booking your tile appointment. We did ours today and it's so fun now it's all starting to come together Building our first dream home in NSW Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 88Oct 31, 2014 9:20 am I woke up this morning with a smile on my face because our slab was down. Took about 30 seconds before I realised that it was a dream and we were nowhere near a slab! Such a real dream!!!! That's one thing I did as a mortgage broker - made sure I filled out all the forms for clients. And these days you would think its all auto completed! And yay for the tile appt. Have you done a preliminary visit? Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 90Nov 02, 2014 8:05 am yvonneh Boo about the bank. Have you done a preliminary visit? I'm planning on stopping in on the way home from work one day this week - might even leave early. Will just be a quick look first and then go back if need be. I've pretty much decided (and have no objections from DH) on the colours so I just need to find something - hopefully in the standard range - that'll suit what I have in mind. We haven't organised it through Coral. Did anybody organise them through Coral? I think I want one. Are they easy to install later? Not sure what Coral's are like but if they are the ones that slide out with the door then I would get them done through Coral, that way the same kitchen guys will do them, but there are certainly a few other options that are out there that will work as an after market thing, as long as you have the time and few handyman skills. I've had it with my lot! I just called to find out what was happening, only to find that our variation form - which was sent a week ago - has been attached to our 'inactive' previous indicative approval and it's basically dead! Seriously, why on earth would ANYBODY attach a new application form to a dead file! So nobody has even looked at our variation form, never mind assessed it or approved it. I am so FURIOUS. Now I have to wait another '1-4 business days' for them to have a look The best news? If I hadn't called, it would have remained there and nothing would have ever happened. We have been brilliant customers for the past 10+ years, making crazy extra repayments in all that time and now they treat us like this. The 1-4 business days doesn't include the assessor assessing the build, just the initial approval again. I feel like my head is going to explode So let me know if you're happy with your bank. I'm off to take some deep breaths... I'm off to take some deep breaths... Mmmmm, banks! Probably the worst part of the entire process has been dealing with the bank for us too. They are the most arrogant and incompetent people going and yet you have no option but to jump through all their hoops. Good luck. Check out our build - Daydream 30 at Logan Village - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73302 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 97Nov 10, 2014 8:14 pm We are using Commonwealth too but through a broker. Being a regional area we have had huge problems getting the plans through the valuers and mortgage insurers! First house design through Coral was valued at $40k under what it was going to cost us. Ended up starting from scratch with new house plans and cutting back on what was included in the loan to get it through. Coral hit us with an extra $750 for drawing up a second contract! The whole process has taken months but we are on the way there now. Council approved plans today! Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 98Nov 10, 2014 9:12 pm Hi Mellywil, I hear your frustrations,we've had so many ups and downs over the last few months. With purchasing land, selling our home and trying to navigate our way through the endless paperwork for the build, mistakes etc Thank god we've found someone from NAB who's been amazing, and we got an excellent interest rate also,if you want any info PM me. It's personal one on one service, with no middle man. We've been with NAB for many years and like yourself made massive extra payments,we're lucky to be in a fairly good position financially, but if it hadn't been for the person that we dealt with we would have taken our business elsewhere. Julie Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 99Nov 11, 2014 8:21 am Well, they got their act together and called me an hour or so after my rant. The guy was very pleasant and things are moving ahead. I guess I'll stick with them for now out of sheer exhaustion. Julie, our everyday banking is with NAB so if we continue to have problems I might send you a PM as they would be the most logical choice if we were to go elsewhere. Now it's time to start getting excited/nervous about our tile selection this Sunday Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney-contract signed! 100Nov 11, 2014 8:36 am Glad to hear your banks getting their act together. Before too long we'll all be in our new homes and all the stress will hopefully be a distant memory. Good luck with your tile selections. Julie The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 20093 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 14238 |
