Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Simonds Sierra Mt Barker - Plumbing in (progress pics) 441Jun 16, 2014 4:40 pm Concentrate on packing and moving in. If you clean up the rubbish, you'll only be disappointed when more builds up. It's even more frustrating when moved in and the rubbish ends up in the front yard ... but that's my whinge! And, WOW, end of July and the slab's not down yet ... fantastic. You must be getting really excited now. Re: Simonds Sierra Mt Barker - Plumbing in (progress pics) 442Jun 16, 2014 4:47 pm I've already started a "we are throwing this out and not moving it" pile... We did a practice run when we moved into this rental 7 months ago, got rid of a stack of stuff... but unsurprising, more needs to go! Getting hubby to part with his things is another thing though... he has more clothes than me!!! Not that he even wears half of them and the vast majority are so old they are too far past even being wearable, but no... it has to stay because it was some band tour t-shirt he's had since 1994 I'll be a monkey's uncle if it is locked up by the end of july! But it's nice to know that thats the goal they're aiming for! (progress pics) 444Jun 16, 2014 7:59 pm Wow. That was quick. I thought you were at least a week behind me, but you've now caught up. Exciting isn't it. How long will they leave it before the next stage? We are at least 1 week, maybe 2. Re: Simonds Sierra Mt Barker - Slabbed!! (progress pics) 445Jun 16, 2014 8:05 pm It's crazy isn't it??? We didn't think they were pouring till the end of this week early next week, so suffice to say we were shocked to see it tonight! I'll call our Csc tomorrow and ask what the dealio is.... In a good way!!! Haha You'll probably overtake us again, we'll catch up, all the way to the end! Can you slip the moving guys a hundred bucks to fall off the truck? Re: Simonds Sierra Mt Barker - Slabbed!! (progress pics) 450Jun 17, 2014 10:43 am joannek Deluxes moving is the perfect opportunity to 'lose' some of those old clothes of your husbands. Can you slip the moving guys a hundred bucks to fall off the truck? I'll take care of it! The trick is not to get him involved in deciding what he wants to keep vs throw out. He gets all nostalgic and only throws out a handful of items.... AND expects a medal for it too! The truth is he never wears them, looks at them, would even know that they're missing... so I'll be making those decisions when I clean out the spare room in a few weeks! (progress pics) 459Jun 18, 2014 7:27 am I wonder how many builders actually finish within the original PCI? Building is like IT projects, which are usually behind schedule and over budget.
