Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 May 19, 2023 5:11 pm Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster. We built in WA nearly two years ago. The house was pretty poorly finished in our opinion but we’ve been told by the builder that this is just how finishes are in a double brick house (we had only built in nsw before, brick veneer). Can anyone shed some light on this? I’m thinking specifically of our windows. I’ve attached a photo of what is the supposed standard, can anyone comment? The more high-end the builder the better the finishing will be but the sills of hard plastered windows often look like that. It's to late now but the best option is to not have the top of the sill rendered then get nosings or sills installed and painted as you would have had in the eastern states. WA has a particular way of building and unfortunately that's the way a large amount of sills are finished.
