Me and my girl have recently bought an 1acre block and want to set the house back about 30 metres back from the street. Most of the builders have a standard 5-10 metres they will connect services to. Just was wondering if anyone has a rough figure or experience on the rest of the 20 metres for power, water and NBN?? Cheers Dylan. Re: Connection of services beyond the 7metres 2Apr 04, 2013 12:29 pm Can't help with costs, but we were about the same distance, maybe slightly less , we queired the builder when we going through all the paperwork, cost, extra costs etc and they said it would be no problem. Saw the sparky there with a dingo one day running the trench for the power & phone. We were never asked for more money, I never raised it so I guess it was factored into our cost from the beginning or they make more on some and less on others. No worries mate. I am currently looking into replacing the windows entirely for 2x or 3x glazing as well as new front doors.
