Nuance has an embossed wood grain, linear Patten on its surface. Riven is more a brushed effect over the entire board. It's really only when you hold them up to the light that you can see the difference in the textural surface. If you just run your finger across them the riven fells slightly more textured, but overall they are very similar and it really comes down to the colour you prefer.
