LED Strip Lighting

I need to know any specific site from where i can get all this stuff on cheap rates.
There are a number of direct source websites to get stuff direct from Chinese manufacturer/distributors, such as aliexpress or diytrade (Google). It tends to be a bit more involved than a simple ebay transaction though. I recently bought some higher powered LED strip from http://www.ledlightsworld.com/ that should be arriving on Wednesday. Bought 5630 led strip, supposed to be around 27w/metre, with light output >1000lm/m, I'll see when it gets here. They also supply 5050 and 3528 strips at much lower price. Also bought psu's and dimmers, again have yet to see the quality. Their service and advice received so far has been exemplary, though.

I'll keep you posted.
I thought I'd update this thread with the latest.

When I originally started this thread, LED strip lighting was somewhat new and expensive. As andrewloz has said above, you can now get it much cheaper.

Since I renovated our kitchen, I've moved and just been through a massive 9 month renovation.
I've installed LED strip lights in a few areas (not the kitchen though - we don't have overhead cabinets).

Here is the lighting which has just been installed in the main bathroom.

Here it is, in the corner (45 degree profile) turned off (mirror is still to be installed):

Up Close:

With it turned on (as well as the main lighting on):

And without the main lighting on (great for late night visits):

As for the cost...
5m of LED strip lights (only 3m used here): $25
Transformer: $13.50
LED Aluminium profile (5m worth, only used 3): $55

All prices include delivery. So total cost is under $100, and I've still got 2m left over.
Great picture Roba. Where did you order/purchase your lights from?

Thanks

LED strip and transformer came from eBay. The aluminium profile was from a Chinese/HK site.

Hi Roba

Could you possibly share the link to the particular ebay seller for the LED strip and transformer?
This stuff looks excellent. Definately a great solution for getting rid of shadows under the overhead kitchen cupboards. I think I will be looking into these further!!

Thanks for that Roba
thanks for the bathroom pics roba.

If I mounted a flat strip on the ceiling do you think i could use it to illuminate a vanity mirror? I had my heart set on star lights, but they hurt my OH's eyes.

That's what I've installed them for in the bathroom. They are quite bright. I've used the other 2m for my workshop. I have a low ceiling, so wanted something low profile.
To show the brightness, here it is on with no other light source:
Fantastic, thankyou roba!!
Have them illuminate your face rather than the mirror. No need for the light to reflect into the mirror and bounce back to your face and so forth.
I've got down lights in the cupboards with false bottoms, I found the LEDs too gave off too much glare and I prefer the light being over top of the counter as opposed to the back.
I've also seen the LED strips people have put in and various parts of the strip have burnt out so one would definitely want to get good ones that last.
