Reverse cycle duct sizing is irrelevant as it is one system designed to both heat and cool. That is the case with gas heating and add-on refrigerated cooling. If the system is 20 years old I would say it is a complete rip out and start again - the ductwork insulation will have probably fallen off o...

Neil first check the brand of existing unit and google for info. I think you may need to change existing duct. Usually duct system must be designed for Dual Cycle because zoning is required to achieve the desired cooling/ heating performance. Hmm - thanks for that. I will find out the existing mode...

Hi all, We have just bought a single storey property that has ducted air con, but cooling only. Is it simple enough to change this to reverse cycle so we can get some warmth in winter? Also, as this system is around 20 year old, what else would you recommend we look at changing? Many thanks Neil

Hi I'm not sure if the terminology is correct, but I have a framess glass shower enclosure, that just sits over the tiled floor. On the bottom of the door is like a weather strip, that just helps prevent water escaping out of the enclosure. The strip has basically worn away, and i'm not sure what to...

That was my original point - it looks like your bay windows are 3 separate windows, meaning there is a stud at each corner. That makes it easier. So you install 3 windows rather than one, and the gap/join is covered by timber - as it is now. Ed OK, so looking at your product sizes, if I was looking...
uPVC windows are not in any way customisable except for size. Ed
Hi again Ed, for a bay window then, which I understamd is essentially 3 spearate windows, how (using uPVC) would the two side windows be joined to the middle window to provide a seal ? Would a uPVC bay window be instal...
If you plan to eventually replace all facade windows, then go with PVC IMO. Ed
This might be a possibility, however, one of my caveats is that we can re-use out internal plantation shutters. What's your take on whether a) uPVC windows could be made to a similar sort of design as the...

Personally - unless you plan to replace the rest of your facade, I would stick to timber (wait... did I just say t-i-m-b-e-r ::surprise:: ) Ed Hi Ed Just curious why you think this? Is it because you Think upvc would look out of place? Regards Neil

Hi all, first post after doing a lot of reading. We are looking to replace our two bay windows, which are timber, and basically rotten. I was wondering what sort of ball park figure it would cost to replace them in a) timber b) uPVC c) aluminium and what people thought about how the aesthetics would...
