Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Builder said we can't have slab. 3May 31, 2016 3:04 am Yes it is sloping and M and P soil. they were going to put it on a slab until they moved the position on the block , then they said it can't be a slab but they haven't come back to us with what the cost will be, I googled and no one seems to have a price on it, and we where waiting on the tender from them so we don't know what they were charging us for a slab. The costs seem to be adding up fast, at this rate we might give up and just buy a house, not as many dramas lol. Cheers Re: Builder said we can't have slab. 4May 31, 2016 7:32 am HI Lorri I suggest you get a copy of the contour and geotechnical engineers report and weigh up the alternative effects on the design, engineering and costs. Slab on ground is the cheapest option..why did they move your house pad position, just curious more info required Lorri I googled and no one seems to have a price on it, and we where waiting on the tender from them so we don't know what they were charging us for a slab. Will ask for the paperwork, not sure if they can email it to us as we are overseas. So been trying to organise the house build from over here, what a nightmare! Might have to put it on hold until we get back over in a few months at this rate. You could landscape it like that, or replace it with a retaining wall. Your best bet is to engage an engineer, or ask theirs what options you have. The battered slope might only be a temporary measure and not intended for a long term solution Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Builder said we can't have slab.......Updated plans 11Jul 12, 2016 7:55 am I don't mind them battered if they are safe left like that, surely the builder would say if they are safe? Would they have to warn you if not? Don't want the slope sliding down the hillside. Are they generally left as they are, never built before so it is something I haven't seen before. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 15036 The plan (excuse the pun) ideally is to do just that and take the basic floor plans and elevations that we have bought and have a draftsman replicate them to comply prior… 2 751 |
