Your home will be such a 'sexy' modern version though. Ours will be more country style I guess. We looked at Summit but they weren't in our price range, such a shame. I love looking at their website, most of their plans are just so modern with great rooflines and ideas and they also have really great interior decorators. Drool

Looks like we are going to be building at the same time as you guys, our slab is due to go down early Feb - Christmas trade delay it seems - so they will be interesting to compare time wise.

We were definitely going for a modern look, although the house is called the Retro, funny how the old architecture comes back in to fashion!
I've had a read through your thread -your house is HUGE!! How many m2 is it? Sounds like a lovely area down there, my parents used to have a beach house in Madora Bay so I have a bit of a soft spot for Mandurah.
If all goes to plan we should be slabbed within a week or so of each other!! Yaaaaay I can't wait

Visit to the block - lovely discovery that the people already living behind us have been throwing their dog poo over our fence.
If they don't stop I think I will put a not so subtle letter in their mailbox...

Cannot wait to follow your build, it will go really quickly once you start,
our slab went down in August and we move in end of next week.

Summit homes have been excellent and the build quality is great, we have had inspections and could not find anything wrong.
Our SS has been happy to let us use their tradies when needed, we used their painter and tiler and they worked through the holidays as they had access which has put us ahead, we had arranged our own frameless glass screen for the shower and they were allowed to install during the build, only floors to be done next week.
We are more than happy that we choose them, hope you will be too.

Hi Twiggens, sorry I missed your reply. Our home isn't huge, well not compared to yours - green eyed monster, behave haha. Ours is 230sq m with an overall area of 312sq m, I guess the alfresco has a lot to do with that.

Went past our block today - nothing!!!! Any progress on yours?

BTW our neighbours are doing the same thing - with the doggy doos. We will wait until our slab is down, if it continues we will chat. They seem such nice people though, hopefully it won't be an issue. Fingers crossed.

They've also been dumping the coals from their woodfired pizza oven grrrr.

CLO still hasn't replied to the email I sent her on Monday arvo, not happy!!

We've met the people behind us, they seemed nice but now I'm re-thinking my opinion!

Can't believe what some people will do!

People have been dumping their household rubbish too, ie a box of fruitloops clearly visible in the site bin next door, garden waste etc.
So annoying!! Very tempted to put up some CCTV when the build starts to keep an eye on it all.

We had a cot or toddler size mattress dumped in the hole in our backyard (the one builder dug to use sand to compact for slab). Amazing what things people dump on lots

I think most of us are still decent people and its the minority that does the wrong thing. It's just that they stand out more. They don't care and get a kick out of upsetting the nice ones.

Good news from the builder today - should be finished in scheduling by Wednesday, then handed to construction by the end of the week, then to site within 10 business days... Yay!! ::celeb::

So that means slab by around second week of feb at the latest if all goes to plan! Fingers and toes crossed
