Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Procorp - Administrator appointed 597Dec 20, 2012 10:56 am I was also wondering about the tilers sekisui will use because that is also our next step and half our tiles in our laundry and toilet are laid. We had also paid upgrades to the tiling company direct. So if they don't use them then we want our upgrade money back and they'll also have to rip the tiles up that have been laid as I doubt we will get something to match. It was a very hard choice the tiles. We went back about 4 times to change lol Re: Procorp - Administrator appointed 598Dec 20, 2012 10:59 am Brown2 Everyone you speak to will have someone they knew who had a good experience with a particular builder and on the other hand someone will know someone who would never recommend that builder. Really, it comes down to the tradesmen they use.. So True Brown2 - When I was working for various Project Builders back during the '90's I never understood why my clients/buyers would come back and say that they would Never build again. Until I actually became a client of a building company I had never worked for back in 2004 - Then I really understood what it was like to be a number in the system. A builder really is only as good as their trades and supervisors on the building side of things. After 10 years working for Project builders and another 12 years of doing what I do (Developing new homes and Project Management), you would think I would have had enough but I still enjoy watching it all come together and seeing a vacant block transformed into a new Home for someone to live in and enjoy even with all the hassles and headaches. I've seen more good than bad over the years - but the bad gets talked about not the good. JB - I went and read all your posts - thanks for your contribution to the forum overall - Sorry if I was a bit harsh - We homeowners need to look forward now to the solution presented by HOW which seems to be the best way forward to complete the jobs out there without additional costs being incurred and more time being wasted. Cheers Michael Re: Procorp - Administrator appointed 599Dec 20, 2012 11:07 am Brown2 I was also wondering about the tilers sekisui will use because that is also our next step and half our tiles in our laundry and toilet are laid. If your tiles are partially laid I assume Sesikui would use the same tiles regardless of who their usual supplier is, unless there was something wrong with the tiling and it needed to be ripped up and re-done. We have grout and adhesive at our place, but tiles were taken back by the supplier, so we might have to choose the tiles again. Re: Procorp - Administrator appointed 600Dec 20, 2012 11:18 am Cathjimrippedoff just actually surfed a few and yes your right lots of terrible reviews with different companies!!! Please don't let those review sites put you off. Just by their nature you're going to see a lot more complaints on them than compliments. The average person who has a good build experience isn't going to move into their new house and in the middle of unboxing things, looking at lights and furniture, doing landscaping, getting used to a new area, and enjoying their new house think to themselves... I really should get online and write a nice review for my builder. The best review I found was from some knucklehead who gave the largest builder in NSW a 1 out of 5 and recommended that everyone avoid them because they refused to offer him free air conditioning the one time he walked into their office to inquire about prices. With quality contributions like that we have less to worry about with builders and more to worry about with the gene pool. My Build Thread: Coral Homes Noosa 279 |
