The microwaive is still there and a bit of extra rubbish but I don't think we are going to worry about it until we get a skip - we really don't have anywhere to put it. I can't believe someone put a whole pair of gates in your skip - so bold isn't it!! In actual house news we still haven't had much action but another delivery yesterday - a whole pile of wood was delivered out the front and we are hoping that means the start of some building is near!!! Already we have some frames, not finished yet but it's looking good! I think it looks heaps bigger now that the frames are up and the house looks so tall compared to the neighbors place. How long did everyone elses frames take to complete? I spoke to the guys who were there today and they said they will be around all week. How is everyone else going? Things seem a bit slow on the forum over the last few days!! Our roof is on and hebel walls going up https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Building the Monaco by Dechellis 113Oct 31, 2012 9:16 pm Congrats Monaco Build. Our frame was timber and took 4 days to erect. On the 4th day the window's were also fitted
07.11.11 - Signed build contract 06.06.12 - Builders interview 27.07.12 - Slab poured 05.10.12 - Lock up Re: Building the Monaco by Dechellis 114Nov 03, 2012 9:18 am Thanks Southbank and Dreamcometrue!! It's good to have an idea of how we can expect things to progress! We drove past yesterday and were shocked to see the roof basically done and most of the frame finished....just the garage and a few other bits and pieces need to be completed. We were surprised by how tall the house is, the high ceilings look really high and the roof itself is very tall. It looks like you would be able to stand up in there. Hopefully the windows and frame are completed on Monday and they can get the bricks started soon after that. We have been having a few issues with the water on our site - basically we don't have any!! Originally when we bought the block we found a water metre, however on closer inspection the metre was just sitting on the ground not connected to anything. My partner has had a dig around and found a pipe but it is totally dry, it seems weird as it is not capped or anything so unless it has been capped closer to the street the water should be pouring out! We have been getting bills from sa water saying that we are paying for the connection etc so we MUST be connected?? All very odd, but we need to get it sorted ASAP. As the bricked will need water so they can start!! Here are some pics of the house with the roof frames up - we think the front yard looks huge now that the big pile of dirt out the front has been taken away. We will be doing that for sure! When we drove past today we were surprised to see that they had been working on the weekend- more of the roof has been done, which also made us realize we have a bit of an issue with the man hole. The man hole is in the garage but the roof space between the garage roof and house roof is petty small so we think we might have to get another man hole in the main roof, maybe in the laundry. Where is everyone else putting their man hole? Re: Building the Monaco by Dechellis 117Nov 04, 2012 2:29 pm We had the same problem with the man hole in the garage, which I pointed out to the SS to see if we could add another one but it turned out it wasn't too bad, the framer has put a walkway through the roof from the garage to the other end of the house, we wont see the walkway if we go up though, with 6" of insulation going in there. DH doesn't plan to go in the roof at all https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Building the Monaco by Dechellis 119Nov 06, 2012 8:10 pm We ended up chatting to the carpenter and he was happy to put a second man hole in the laundry for us! We are going to use the roof space for a bit of storage so really need room to be able to move some bigger stuff up there. So far the tradies have been really helpful and we think it has been better asking them directly if we need any changes required rather than going to the SS. We are still having water issues, we have been in contact with the water company and they are hopefully sending someone out ASAP....fingers crossed!! We are hoping the bricks can start soon so we really need water. Apart from that the window frames went in today as well as the sliding doors and the front door frame. The portico frame and the roof frame also went up so the frame is looking pretty much complete. Love your big doors with windows either side https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 22263 No, not yet. It’s currently being assessed by our building surveyor 4 19509 With that sort of soil type if you ask for a design to include piers then I would also include void formers. That way you should reduce the chances of settlement and heave. 7 19990 |
