Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 5333May 16, 2012 7:54 am JLD Sorry to hear that things are going well for you after handover, other than the maintenance stuff are you happy in your house? The house is fine. Maintenance, Water Bills are the biggest issues. We are happy with the house, and love it. But yer it has tarnished our experience which was amazing up until handover. Re: Porter Davis homes 5334May 16, 2012 9:03 am Hi everyone, Quick update we are now in our house and loving it! I thought the day would never come. We accepted the house without the render being done and a storm water drain to the patio as there was so much rain which delayed it, but we emailed our BC and SS daily until it was done which was 2 and 3 days later. Fortunately i am home for 2 weeks to make sure all is done. We had a leak under one of the ensuite and they had a plumber out the next day. If anything comes up we email the BC and call the SS and it usally gets answered right away which is different from during the build. Our SS actually asked us the other day to not email our BC as he gets in trouble we replied saying if you actually returned phone calls we wouldnt have to email her and the SS then said your right, so he now returns calls and if he doesnt we email the BC. All in all yes the build had stressful moments but now we are in everything is great and running smoothly. I hope everyone else's build are still going smoothly and start packing a few weeks early because the move in date comes up quick. We thankfully had a lot of help unpacking and only now have maybe 10 boxes in the garage which have a few items we need to look at. Best of luck everyone! I will let you know when our blog is updated with pictures. Let them know whats going on. Send them photos as well. The council definitely WONT replace a crossover damaged during a build. They will ask the owner to pay to have this replaced / repaired. But PD adds this to their contracts that they replace / repair / pay for any damage. That's why they capture a condition report on it. Whether they honour this... I don't know Humble... Porter Davis homes 5336May 16, 2012 2:49 pm Soooooo impatient for our build to start! I feel like we are in limbo! Waiting waiting. It also means the longer the start delay, the longer I'm in this rental. Which is ok; but it's not our lovely forever home. We're staying with family which is great from a financial p.o.v. but it's crowded and the commutes for hubby and I are really long. We were told out file is due to "go to construction" next Monday, anyone care to share how long to start it was for them from this point?
