Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Apr 10, 2012 3:04 pm Hi, I'm stuck trying to visualise this colour roof (Shale Grey or Windspray Colorbond) with these bricks ... Does anyone have any suggestions for colour matches please? I should also have mentioned that this is for a two-storey house with the possibility of a little render/bagging at the front. Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 3Apr 11, 2012 8:56 am Yes - definitely considering all those but thought the roof might lead the rest of the decisions.... Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 4Apr 11, 2012 9:57 am If I had to pick either of the two, I'd say shale grey. But dune is a better choice if you're going for that tonal range. It really depends on your facade design and all the other colour choices. Like putting a puzzle together, you need all the pieces. Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 5Apr 11, 2012 11:34 am Mmmm.... had disregarded Dune - I wasn't sure about the tan/brown tones in it. I really like the greyer tones... Here's the facade we're using: Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 6Apr 11, 2012 11:41 am I was thinking something like these colourings.... Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 7Apr 11, 2012 12:38 pm That looks closer to windspray. I have windspray but my bricks are also grey, not a brown or tan. There are pics on my thread, or do a forum search or Google image search for windspray and you should get plenty of ideas. Personally I like windspray over shale grey, which tends to look a bit like just galvanized iron IMO. It all comes down to personal choice. I was told not to mix greys and browns, but there are plenty of homes with brown bricks and grey roofing and they all look fine to me! Colorbond have a colour visualiser on their website which you might find helpful. Good luck with your decision! Jess Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 8Apr 11, 2012 12:46 pm I think my bricks are a similar colour to yours (Austral Nougat) and I have Windspray for my roof, gutters and fascia, although they look like different colours in the photo... 23 Aug 2011: Land settlement 14 Sep 2011: Block levelled 20 Oct 2011: Slab 3 Nov 2011: Frame 10 Feb 2012: Handover http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g372/Dazzab6/ Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 10Apr 11, 2012 1:53 pm Thanks for the advice. It's very difficult to visualise the colour when you look at tiny squares of the material. Going out to drive around a new estate and check out their roofs. Feels a bit stalk-ery. I want to go as light as possible for the roof, for energy efficiency, without looking too naff. Thanks for your advice... DazzaB and Jess - your places look great! Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 11Apr 11, 2012 5:51 pm Stalking is good fun! Who knows, you might change your mind altogether after seeing some other combinations. If you are going for light, I think surfmist looks great, really striking. Also being a 2 storey you might be able to get away with it as there is less roof in view from street level. Does that make sense? Thanks for the compliment, we love our house! Re: Windspray or Shale Grey Colorbond roof? 12Apr 16, 2012 10:05 am What about this combo of roof colour, brick and render? Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10595 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 21088 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 3228 |
