Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 01, 2012 10:57 am HI My husband and I are looking at building with Carlisle Homes. We nearly got to Tender Stage with Porter Davis but something told us apart from the $60,000 worth of upgrades to have the house looking like home that something wasnt right. We are now looking at these guys but we are so concerned and hesitant after our experience with Porter that I would appreciate any feedback what so ever. Has anyone built the Meridien? If so, are there photos to share? Also, I would like to know if anyone could tell me what brand the standard laminate flooring for the affinity range is? Porter Davis' looked like something not even my great grandmother would of considered. Would appreciate any general info, photos. Thanks Re: Carlisle Homes Meridien 29 2Mar 01, 2012 11:27 am Hi Audan, you did exactly what we did. I have had nothing but good to speak of Carlisle...everything they have done so far is been spot on and our SS is simply brilliant. We are so glad we ditched the big P :p The standard laminate range I think is by evolution it is an 8mm laminate. The upgraded 12mm was bugger all to change to. You can see our colour selections/upgrades etc on my blog. You can also drop by the Carlisle thread here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=24223 What we love most is our seperate toilet to ensuite, a full size spa in ensuite and a powder room. Plus we saved over 30k for a better design floor plan with Carlisle as we didn't have to upgrade so much to get it to the level we needed. If you have any questions I am happy to try and answer the best I can! Re: Carlisle Homes Meridien 29 3Mar 01, 2012 12:55 pm Such a great Help CBPH! Thanks so much for sharing your blog and info. the house looks absolutely fantastic thus far and i love colours you've selected. how exciting for you! I will definitely check the Carlisle homes thread. Thanks again for the information - I greatly appreciate it and good luck with the house, I will be sure to check it out regularly. Re: Carlisle Homes Meridien 29 4Mar 01, 2012 1:45 pm Hi Audan19, We recently built with Carlisle, the Newington though. They were excelent to build with and the range of standards were fantastic. Even upgrades were very reasonable and we came in pretty much on budget with all the features we wanted and an ideal floor plan. Feel free to have a look at our blog here- http://chateau-belsey.blogspot.com.au/ which has completed pics too. I adore my NSW Spotted Gum floor and so many people have commented on it when they have visited. Good luck with your choices. It's such an enormous decision for people, but I often think the big builders forget this. Carlisle use to sneak a water resistant "Performance Solution" into their contracts. Have you checked your contract for same? 4 11630 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
