Browse Forums Real Estate 1 Feb 04, 2012 2:12 pm Hello everyone, I have a home that I want to give away for FREE!! Here is a brief description: - 2 bedroom timber home - recently repainted exterior - fully functional kitchen with cabinetry and stove, - fully functional bathroom with tub, hand basin and tapware - original floorboards - currently tenanted at $300/wk (so it's not in bad shape or anything) in Bayside suburbs of Melbourne Why am I giving my home away? I'm looking for a win win situation. I plan to demolish the home and build a new home on the site. Rather than paying $$$ for demolition, I'd much prefer to ask if there is anyone out there that would like to remove it from my land for free. This way, I save on demolition and you get a FREE home!! Win Win..... What's the catch? You have to cut the timber stumps, lift the home onto a truck and transport it away yourself. When? Timeframe for giving this away would be around April/June 2012. So you have plenty of time to investigate and prep. Send me your email address if you're interested and I can provide photos and more details, thanks Alex Re: FREE Home 3Feb 04, 2012 8:22 pm try gumtree, eBay and whirlpool. 13-08 Moved in 13-05 Build restart 13-04 VMIA compensation 12-08 Builder liquidation 12-03 Fixing 11-12 Lockup 11-11 Frame 11-09 Slab 11-09 Start 11-07 Contract 10-11 2K deposit 10-06 Titled land Re: FREE Home 4Feb 04, 2012 9:28 pm At least your realistic and are offering it for free you might find someone to take it. I have seen many people asking upto $50k for a house on the off chance some fool will buy it. Good luck and hopefully someone will want it or extra $$$ come off the budget for the new house removing it yourself. A bank is a place that will lend you money only if you can prove that you don't need it... Re: FREE Home 5Feb 04, 2012 9:45 pm Alex-please check your PM's. Our biggest problem was getting the building moved in our required time ( excuse after excuse !! ) . It did, however, work out at the end of the day and we saved $6000 + in demolition costs. Check out some of our photos.
