Thats ok - you probably the highest $$$ per m2 in the thread
But seriously a 10 minute drive to the city would be totally worth it!
I think that is the car park

How much did you pay? 371Feb 03, 2012 10:52 am smorgzzz humble gogo65 Sorry buttercup, But I actually thought he was insulting me saying he wouldnt spend 400k on a 700sqm block in palisades or stonecutters, I just wanted him to realise we all buy land for a different reason. I do know Wilton is on the outskirts of Sydney on the opposite side of Sydney to stonecutters and palisades and therefore completely irrelevant to compare After just reading about Palisades and stonecutters, I would say you have to question it.. paying those numbers. $470k for a block? Stonecutters is 800m from the quakers hill sewage plant, just one point. I aint having a go, but 470k for a patch of dirt is on the verge of very expensive... its not waterfront living.. remember that. I understand its Sydney, but for not a lot more, you could knock and rebuild closer to town. Easily. I'm not sure the relevance of it being "800m" from a sewerage plant, I live in another part of Sydney now and live 800m from a sewerage plant, and I don't think the recent sale of my house took into consideration the surrounding waste management facilities.... The facility you're referring to is actually further away than you think, crossing a couple of main roads The advantage of Stonecutters Ridge, is that it's marketed as a premium estate in a developing area, with a golf course on the estate. There surrounding suburbs are earmarked for development in the coming years, so I'm sure the money paid for a more premium price will be returned with positive growth as the developments take place. Also, the appeal is the width of the blocks, we sure couldn't find a block that suited what we were after anywhere else in the North/West Sydney area. It's funny, deja-vu time - I do recall similar conversations starting on page 1 of this thread (3 years ago). Somebody challenged Stonecutter for paying over $600K for her block. . . Have the prices gone down since then? Re: Land. Somebody challenged Stonecutter for paying over $600K for her block. . . Have the prices gone down since then? We paid in the mid 300's for our 555sq block, which we thought was better value for money given the block size would fit most homes on it, not just a narrow block home like other neighbouring developments. We also have a leafy view, majority of the development is the golf course, so not claustrophobic at all. Re: Land. How much did you pay? 374Feb 03, 2012 12:49 pm smorgzzz - thats part of the reason why we didnt buy at SCR. Simon's sales pitch was all about the Greg Norman championship golf course and then the estate. I am not a golfer so it seriously didnt bother me and got me somewhat offside. Bingara Gorge on the other hand mentioned the golf course once and their sales pitch was more about the estate which is what we wanted, the golf course is simply a bonus. Did we buy simply because of this, hell no, it just felt more homely and the price of land fell well within our budget. Which left us more money to spend on the house We have awesome views of the Razorback and the hill sides which is awesome jodge - we should star another thread, it certainly would be interesting We paid $172per sqm lol Re: Land. How much did you pay? 376Feb 05, 2012 5:47 pm BradS Actually i have friends who live in Wilton already and travel time to the CBD is about 80 minutes. An express train from Macarthur takes about 50 minutes to the city, 12 minutes drive from Wilton to Macarthur..... 15 minutes or so of whatever else they may do. Its really not that bad I currently live in Castle Hill and on a perfect day the travel time is 45mins and I drive and park at Oakes Road to broaden the selection of buses i can catch home, you would add an extra 15minutes to the travel if i caught the bus at Castle Towers. Friday afternoon coming home is normally an hour to Oakes Road alone. I would hate to think how much longer it would take to get to Castle Towers let alone Bella Vista or The Pallisades/Kellyville. Work colleagues have reported an hour and a half to Kellyville So given the proximity of Bingara Gorge to the CBD i think public transport is doing pretty well. Given i work in the CBD it was something we had to consider Boy 80 minutes ONE WAY travel time is tough! We both work at Norwest Business Park. It only take us 10 - 15 minutes to reach our office. Buying at Bella Vista Waters is the best decision we made. We have more time to spend with our kids. They grow up so fast so time with them is really precious for us. Other things that turned us off about Bingara Gorge were: - No gas in the estate. Delfin was going to supply us with gas bottles. Hilarious! - Every time we tried to ask about the "construction" of the golf course, they avoided it like a plague. - No school I know these issues made prime time news. They even showed residents putting up signs/placards on their homes to show their disgust/anger towards Delfin. We felt really sorry for those residents but at the same relieved that we did not proceed with the purchase. Re: Land. How much did you pay? 377Feb 05, 2012 8:26 pm Its currently about an hour door to door from Castle Hill to the CBD, so another 20 minutes isn't going to kill us and the fact i don't have to put up with the idiots in Sydney will make my life a lot nicer hehe No gas, i heard from residents it was one resident who wasn't prepared to wait and wasn't happy with the bottle. Even now that they have gas they still carry on like it was never connected lol BG now has gas and seriously, its Delfin/Lendlease so the golf course was always going to happen. The country club is now in council awaiting DA so it wont be to much longer School, it has also been open for some time now and has about 80 students from what i hear. I dont have kids so i am not all that fussed by the school Re: Land. How much did you pay? 378Feb 07, 2012 9:45 pm I was just about to post up that there is a school and it opened this year, my niece started there as my sister moved into the old section of Wilton last year.
