They had shuffled some bricks around and a cement covered blue barrel has appeared on site! We were told that the buikd time wuld be 26 weeks, but who knows! We make our weekly pilgrimage on Saturday mornings so hopefully they will surprise us with some brickwork done! X Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 83Jan 06, 2012 2:16 pm Telmish i see bricks on your house hopefully they finish before the storm starts... Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 85Jan 06, 2012 5:58 pm Telmish how did you find color selections did u have to go place to place, all was it all in one show room? Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 86Jan 06, 2012 6:22 pm Jordanspringsfamily The colour selections are made in the showhouse office. You get an appointment with the 'colour girl' and she goes through the options with you. She has all the samples. However we had an idea of what we wanted and chose the nearest to it from the selection they had. We did have to upgrade on a couple of things because the selections are quite limited in the silver and gold package, especially the silver range! We also just went with the silver range for somethings such as taps and then went and bought our own and will have them put in ourselves because the choices weren't to good! But generally the colour ranges fro exterior and interior are Wattyl and colourbond. I hope that helps Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 87Jan 06, 2012 9:04 pm Thanks Telmish we are just a bit concerned about tiles, might go down to color tile again and check out the names just in case she doesn't have them with her.. Everything else is simple white walls, black kitchen with white stone benches, charcoal carpet in the silver range. we are doing the black and white theme.. having trouble trying to figure out how to do the black and white in the bathrooms thou. This website has been handy thou.. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 88Jan 08, 2012 8:48 am Yay... some brick are up!!! Woohoo. We did notice however that the mortar jionts between the bricks are not 'raked' which s what we asked for. Do they do that after???? Can anyone advise????? Enjoy the rest of the weekend X Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 89Jan 08, 2012 9:27 am It can be done after yeah. Hoping we get a few more builders back this week. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 91Jan 11, 2012 3:05 pm Hi all, We are about to start building in the next couple of weeks. We are on the corner of Water Gum and Landsborough Street. There is a two storey Eden Brae house in progress behind us, which is exciting to us because we get to check out its progress every time we visit. Its good to see the various stages to know what we're in for. I'm hoping its not too long before we have a slab down. Our mortgage settles tomorrow and progress payments can start as soon as the builder is ready to go. I cant wait! We're building the Waterfall 34 with Clarendon Homes, but have added on a rumpus and grand alfresco which puts it at almost 40 squares. Its a beautiful home and so far we have been very happy with how things have progressed with them. Its been good reading some of the posts on here as this is our first home that we're building, so its all new to us, and any tips we get are great. Looking forward to meeting some of our neighbours. We visit our block most weekends and our kids love playing in the park. The flying fox is a big hit! Hopefully I'll have an update soon on our start date. Until then, I'll continue the torturous wait! Take care! Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 92Jan 11, 2012 5:12 pm It's exciting news. I found out today mine starts next week. Drove out today and I had a fence and a loo on site. Very happy, especially after all the dramas I had. Yeh, brand new fence by the looks of it. It looked pretty, anything except just dirt looks pretty to me at he moment. I told her when you waived it was probably someone from the site or someone who followed the blog. Was good to put a face to a forum name so next time I see you I'll say g'day. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 97Jan 12, 2012 9:39 am Nope - had one for the last 7 years. Working and trying to look after is to hard for me, also made it hard to let the little one play outside. Defiantly staying away from a pool. Building the Strand 40 by Kurmond Homes in Jordan Springs, Penrith Blog:http://houseofhep.blogspot.com/ No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 22281 No, not yet. It’s currently being assessed by our building surveyor 4 19525 With that sort of soil type if you ask for a design to include piers then I would also include void formers. That way you should reduce the chances of settlement and heave. 7 20008 |
